I'm kind of surprised a few things didn't make this list, and not even in the way the hipster posters in this thread are.

While FFVI is probably my favorite FF, I would've considered FFVII more worthy of its place due to FFVI's poor mechanics. FFVI's gameplay is so simplistic and easy that it actively drags down an otherwise great game while at least FFVII is a little more challenging and the materia system gives you more flexibility than the esper system.

RE4 is another one I'm surprised to see at the top of the list, not so much because I don't believe it's a great game, but because it doesn't quite rise to the level of the rest of the list and I assumed this board wouldn't gravitate towards a GCN/PS2 game due to it being a retro board. The rules may of changed, but I thought the average resident of /vr/ would've picked an older game over it.

Quake is another one I'm surprised to not see, I assume if someone's picking Doom they may decide there's enough overlap with Quake that they don't want to pick both, but I would've certainly put Quake over Half-Life. That said, Half-Life's mod scene is a little more varied than Quake, so I could see that being a point of decision for some.

I'm also surprised things like X-COM, Civilization, or Diablo II, all of which get semi-regular threads, aren't on the list or even close to making it.

Hell Knights work as a good stopgap between an imp and a Baron. Chaingunners are dangerous as fuck glass cannon hitscanners, Arachnotrons and Mancubi work as snipers, Revenants are flexible glass cannons, Pain Elementals serve as a good high priority harassment enemy, and a single Archvile can drastically change up any fight. They're all excellent additions.
