I own too many to list. All official from Krikzz too, no Chinese knockoffs. Easily the best investment you can make when it comes to retro gaming. I started buying them in 2015 because I was appalled people were asking 60 bucks for Sparkster on SNES. Once I got a taste with the original Super Everdrive I never looked back at buying original carts ever again.

i had one of those GBA carts back in the day that you could flash roms to from an R4 card on a DS. it was rad because you had the option of either just using it to run a game on the DS's GBA mode, or actually store a game on it and essentially make it into a cart of that game that will work on any GBA. for some larger games you had to go with the second option, but it was fine because you could reflash as many times as you want.
these days I just emulate on my phone tho. a million times more convenient and with the proper shaders it looks better than the real deal.

The only systems I have multiples for are DS and GBA, both of which are really cheap. The R4 3DS was because the 3DS wasn't compatible with my original R4. And the GBA carts are because of design and feature improvements made over time.

I thought the R4 incompatibility was due to firmware. It's not like the 3DS couldn't play DS games, but it seemed to be aware of certain game IDs used in the manufacturing of R4 cards. If you hack a 3DS you can force boot on slot-1 with a bootloader negating any security that may have been there jsyk

A lot of people are going for laminated screens because you can't fuck up the alignment (which would cause the pixels along one of the sides to be covered) and you can't trap dust in it.

These screens require either a custom shell or a heavily cut original shell.

Personally I think it's better to keep original equipment intact unless it's a dead system that's only useful for salvaging the parts.

Hey man, if you like it, good for you. I know lots of people do. Personally, I really didn't like it when I finally got one. It makes me want to push back a bit against the dominant narrative that the 101 screen is unquestionably superior to the 001, when it's not that clear cut. The lack of ghosting, being better in sunlight, and more accurate colours are legitimate reasons to prefer the frontlit model. But for some people the brighter screen and more vibrant colours makes the 101 worth the trade-off. The problem I have is that the discourse seems to have forgotten it is a trade-off, treating it more like a straight upgrade.

LTO is in the dead nigger zone
I got a backbit pro for my Intellivision, it's pretty good and it uses a microSD like a normal cart and also works for vectrex
It does have some issues:
1)I had to patch all the games with non-default memory maps to get them to work by using some tool packed with Jzintv. I just followed what some atariage guy said. They were dealbreaker games for me so it's a good thing it worked out.
2)The official support forums are locked behind accountshit
3)If your intellivision cart slot has a death grip like mine then the adapter will come apart and you will need to learn to wiggle it back and forth to get it out. Not the best design.

For some reason nobody seems to have taken up improving the GBC emulation on GBA, it's open source but this is all we have.

There are limits to what is possible on the GBA. With the GBA's CPU hardware acceleration is needed to reach playable speeds, but the GBA's PPU isn't flexible enough to emulate all the GB PPU's corner cases. So some amount of graphical glitches are sadly inevitable.

EZ Flash already had to redesign the Omega DE to account for the parts shortage. On the plus side, the new Rev B seems to be pretty competitive in terms of battery life, which was previously the Everdrive's killer feature.

I want one for my gameboy micro, but none of the options seem great. I guess I’ll get an Ez flash iv eventually.

EZ Flash IV is impossible to find these days. Newer carts are your only option.

Yes, I owned a Supercard Lite and Supercard Mini. Dogshit slow SDRAM, so GBA games ran like ass, but NDS games were fine.

That's old school. It's pretty crazy that you can still get these, but not better carts from that era like the EZ Flash IV.

Most of my flashcarts came from AliExpress and they're bretty good, the only krikkz one I own is a mega everdrive x5 I got for like 50$ on sale. funny enough that would be the only one I would recommend people buying at full price for, or maybe a pro if you use a Sega CD a lot. Otherwise you're just gonna be spending a lot of money for no reason when the AliExpress stuff werks jus as gud. Like for instance, the N64 everdrives are perfectly usable on krikkkzs X3 firmware which most Chinese flashcarts use, x7s are literally pointless. they offer no other feature other than reset saving, which isn't even a big deal

I own a couple.
EZ-Flash Omega for the GBA, an Everdrive GB v.1.2 for my GBC, and an Everdrive 64 V1 for my N64.

The EZ Flash IV is still an acceptable cart for palying GBA games if it's all you've got. I used one back in the day.

But yeah Omega DE is what you want if you're buying new.
