Mario is Missing has fairly bland gameplay, but the graphics and music are both bang on. Pretty much every song on the soundtrack is fantastic.

I actually really loved this game as a child. Not only did it feel like a more fun version of Carmen Sandiego, but it was one of the few games I could beat easily. I always thought it would be cool if someone took the graphics and music and used them to create a real mario game using the same theme.

I actually have a soft spot for the SNES version of Mario is Missing. It's not that bad of a game, it's pretty good for an edutainment game. I rented it several times when I was a kid.

Same here. I don't even think I realized it was supposed to be an educational game at the time, it was just Mario. Mario's Time Machine was kinda bad though, all I remember doing was fucking around in the surfing section.
