My favorite star wars game of all time died a long time ago. It was probably the best experience I've ever had with an MMO until they killed it one awful patch after another. Yes I'm aware that there exists private servers, it can never bring back the magic for me.

I also like KOTOR and TIE-Fighter.

As kids we just called this game POD RACER
Pod racer is still my favorite, I had the pc version and I don't think I even knew how to boost until my third playthrough.
I was pretty satisfied with pic related too after I found out about it years after the release.
Battlefront was clearly an awesome game but I didn't have internet to enjoy the multiplayer.

This series is such indescribable slop (was already headed there but Disney accelerated it) now but holy shit there were several years where the games were amazing fucking kino. Shooters, CRPGs, racers, fun multiplayer, RTS, some genuinely inspired stuff. There was some shovelware too but the diamonds rose from the ashes.

I rented JPB when I was a kid and I couldn't get past the first level. Then I gave it another chance 10 years later and found out that you can lock on to enemies. Total gamechanger, and I like it now.

Rogue Squadron and Battle for Naboo for the N64 are some of the few games I got 100% done as an adult.
Also really liked Clone Wars as a kid even though the game has a lot of jank.
It was my first PS2 game and the cutscenes completely blew me away. I thought graphics couldn't ever get any better.

When I was younger, it was Rouge Squadron, Episode 1 Racer, both of the retro Battlefront games, and Trilogy Arcade.
Didn't play through the KOTOR games until a few years ago, but I really like those too.

Trying to play PC version right now, the shit's painful. Is there any way to avoid damage from droids shooting at you? I can't go past a section because I don't have enough health, they just blow my ass and then 2 times out of 3 game is crashing when i'm trying to load saved game.

Star Wars Episode 1: Racer (it almost pains me to add prequelshit but this is a great game)

There were a lot of good Star Wars games, but those are the best imo and I’ve been playing them for 30 years. I didn’t add games like Battlefront because I believe Jedi Knight did the Star Wars shooter better. I also think dark forces and dark forces 2 are great, but Jedi Knight 2/3 did what they did better.
I never liked RTS games so I can’t speak on them.
Star Wars Galaxies was amazing and ambitious but I didn’t start playing it until after the shitty combat upgrade.
I also missed out on all the X-Wing series games because I didn’t get a PC until 2002 but probably would have loved them back in the day.

From 1995-2005 LucasArts was in the perfect position to appease Star Wars fans, build hype for the franchise again. Before the prequels, you got tons of employees who were fans really wanting to open up the original trilogy and got kino like dark forces and x-wing. They gave fans exactly what they wanted: what if YOU were an x-wing pilot, what if YOU were a Han Solo guy.
After episode 1 dropped to heavy criticism, LucasArts primarily focused on OT era or OT adjacent games likely in an attempt to capitalize on their jaded base fans, still made by inspired people who loved them, which is why there is so much good Star Wars vidya from 1995 to 2005.

Someone also listed Teras Kasi…I don’t think I was ever more pissed off at a video game purchase as a kid then that, as interesting as it is.

At first I was, then after a few hours I really loved the active turned based combat. In fact when I first played it, I used to keep hitting the basic attack option thinking it would make me attack more, not realizing you auto basic attack if nothing is selected. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I’m sure the PS5 remake will be real time combat.
