Just some advice:

stop putting the Japanese in the titles, it's fucking cringe as a western player.
stop uploading every shitclear you get, especially when it's completely unremarkable (has misses, low score, not a difficult game)
stop putting fucking 8k in the title, we are talking about a 240p arcade game.
also looking through your channel I don't really see many impressive clears aside from Metal Slug, so maybe work on quality over quantity.

Aside from that, great channel bro, thanks for sharing.

But I am kind of buttmad about people using a keyboard or gamepad to 1cc arcade games.
I'm not officially against it but I jus' don't like it.

That's not even remotely true as hundreds of shmup records were set in arcades decades ago with no save states and are not even close to being broken even today. Hell, even today most Japanese shmup players play in arcades or console ports without save states.

>>9859260
Literally hundreds. Knock yourself out. Granted most have actually been surpassed since the 90s, but like 98% of these new records are just old superplayers still playing in arcades (western players are not even remotely close at all for vast majority of these)

That's only the obscure shit no one bothers to play nowadays.
You can avoid save-states at the cost of having to waste even more time to get good in some autistic game, if that's your thing be my guest.
>Hell, even today most Japanese shmup players play in arcades or console ports without save states.
Not true, many superplayers I've seen on stream grind save-states like crazy, it just saves time.

There are still hundreds from the 90s and the players beating those scores today are superplayers in their 40s and 50s still playing in the arcade so the point still stands. The best shmup players never did and still aren't using save states for the most part.

Yes, there are many 90s records unbroken and many, many more 90s records that still mog the best western player scores despite them spamming save states.

>> No.9859303

>>9859290
>The best shmup players never did and still aren't using save states for the most part.
They record their gameplay and watch it back.
Have been doing this since via supergun since the 80s.
And of course they watch over other players shoulders at the arcade to understand routes and boss strategies.

These two strategies are not so far removed from save state practices.

>> No.9859305

Look at the leaderboards of ACA and other ports, almost all japanese. Look at all the new WRs being set, almost all set on cabs in the arcade.

>> No.9859307

>>9859302
That's more because with emulation you tend to move on to a new game once you get the 1cc instead of trying to set a world record.
90s records were set in arcades where the game selection was more limited and you were trying to move up the scoreboard and get your name printed in Gamest.

They are both methods of gathering information and strategy without actually playing the game. Especially the tactic of recording your own gameplay and watching it back to notice the boss patterns you didn't pay as much attention to while you were trying not to die.

They practice at home via emulation and then go to the arcade to set the official record via the most legit method. This is just common sense, anon.

Japanese arcade culture is different than here in the west. They don't emulate nearly as much and console ports/arcade play are way more popular.

>> No.9859324

>>9859314
They aren't. They are not part of the rules of the game. They are a do-over that the game does not normally include. That's why you can't use a save state and then continue to the end and still claim you 1cc'd a game. Because save states are outside the rule set of what the game establishes.

There is the game's code, and then there is the true game that exists independent of it. When you use a save state you're just running code and practicing, but you aren't playing the game. It's no different from standing in your driveway shooting baskets. You're not actually playing the game of basketball when you do that. You're just practicing or fooling around for fun.

bro what is wrong with you. I don't have all fucking day to play a game, If the best way for me to practice is to save state later stages, then I am doing it. Why does this even matter, if the result of the clear is the same?
I am not going through the same first couple stages over and over again, just to keep being stuck at later parts. Imagine how much better the japs would be if they started using save states sooner.

>> No.9861572

The idea you can't practice the games with modern tools like save state practices at your disposal is ridiculous.
It would be akin to claiming you didn't really hit a home run because you used a batting machine to practice outside the baseball game.

Next you'll be saying that if you didn't complete your 1cc or high score in a commercial arcade that somehow doesn't count either.
