This game is good until the last two levels, then it gets really really bad for no reason.

This game is top notch with slowdown removed (and much better than X). With slowdown it's nearly unplayable, laggy as hell, and drops your inputs though.

Also the final two levels of Slug are always where the difficulty cranks up. You just need to refine your routing.

The 4th mission's opening street scene is a bit annoying since it kind of requires a very specific course of action and lacks the fun breathing space of the rest of the game's layouts I guess. I never found the underground trains part to be that bad, but I guess it could be a bit stressful. The last part with the zombies is great fun though.

The Final mission is also fine, though it lacks the setpiece flow craziness of the first game's and obviously MS3's.

There's a very good reason, it gets unreasonably difficult and unbalanced. I'd argue the slowdown is not the most important thing X fixed from 2. 2 is extremely easy up until the last two levels, you can get there with no deaths by barely trying, and then you're forced to coin feed. X has a much harder first half but the second half is easier.

It's an arcade game retard, it's supposed to be unfair to make money, but not impossible and everything is managable.
