I just can't take it anymore /vr/. I can't be on /v/ anymore. They constantly fight and shitpost and it just isn't fun doing everything but actually talking about vidya.

So lets have a good old fashioned "What are you playing?" thread, /vr/ style.

Playing FFV after seeing it getting recommended several times this week.

>On a thread talking about 'casual' vidya gamers
>Several posts discussing how having video games as a hobby means you're a superficial casual
>"I can't wait for the crash to happen guys"

Yeah, I just can't take /v/ anymore. I've been on /vr/ since launch and while the nostalgiagasming gets annoying at least people discuss vidya. I hope you enjoy your stay here fellow /v/ refugee.

Anyway, OT I've been playing this gem for the last week or so and I'm really enjoying some aspects of the battle system, like the additions to make up for the lack of gameplay in battles. The translations borderline horrible though and the story is just okay so far, which is a shame because it could've been on par with some of the FF games for the system with a little work.

Speaking of which, FFV is one of my favorite games in the series, some of the best gameplay and a pretty strong story to go with it - IMO it also has some of the best music like Home Sweet Home. Just play it for what it is and you won't be disappointed.

I beat Super Metroid a few minutes ago, first time I ever played it. I used a walkthrough for the last part though, because I got really tired of all the backtracking, trying to find what I missed.
I don't know yet what I'll be playing next, but I got a whole lot of PS 1 & 2 games from a friend, and I never really played anything on that system, so it'll probably be something from that lot.

FFV is certainly my favourite entry and a very solid title overall. I hope you have great fun with it.
I'm currently playing Lufia II for the snes. I used to play it a lot when it came out. I'm quite enjoying this playthrough even though since I know the game by heart it isn't very challenging now, compared to how I remembered it as a kid. Still enjoying it though.

I started playing Final Fantasy IX again, on the PSN. I just finished VIII, and VII as well, a few months ago.

These are my favourites games of all time. I don't know, it brings back a lot of memories, and while I still enjoy modern games, these have something very special.

Speaking of FFVIII, I spent about a whole hour in the menu yesterday (maybe more) junctioning magic, refining items and stuff, to beat Omega Weapon, pic related. It was much easier than I remembered, actually.

Oh and OP, since you're playing FFV, I hope you're enjoying it, that's a great game.

Planning to play V Advance then I thought I might wanna pay a visit to /vr/ and I'm here.

Currently I cleared III, IV, VI, VIII, IX.
I played VII, stopped way too early.

XII, grinding to level 80s, then I got bored out, supposedly it's just the final dungeon but I want to get more of the rare games and stuff.

Gamefeel? The fuck is gamefeel?

I'm playing DoDonPachi in short bursts. Want to try to get good at shmups.

And then trying to chip away at Alien Soldier. As hard as the game is, it's pretty forgiving. Stages aren't too long, and you have passwords, so it's not like you lose any progress.

For longer playing sessions, I'm going through FFVII for the first time. It's pretty cool.

The hardest part is getting used to the controls, and switching weapons during a boss fight.

Lance and Flamethrower are the best weapons. Homing is pretty good for blazing through the stages, but it's pretty terrible against most bosses. The other weapons aren't really worth using, I've found. Learn how to abuse the fuck out of the counter and the dash.

Probably the best port of the game, good on you.

As for FFVIA, I think it's worth playing if you haven't played the game before seeing as it doesn't add as much as FFVA and people tend to complain about the music. If you want a portable version though that's understandable.
