Worst RPG ever

>> No.9837210

the title is quite bad

Seriously? You can't possibly believe that.

>> No.9837215

you might say its beyond bad

>> No.9837216

what are some of your favorite RPGs on playstation anon? I'm thinking of starting one and would like suggestions.

What makes it so bad anyways? I just took everyone's word for it but as a kid, I don't really remember anything past the intro.

This is some Batman Beyond bullshit

>> No.9837264

From playing it a bit it's a bit dungeon crawler where it makes you travel long distance without save points.

So JRPG fans who hate challenge dissed it.

>> No.9837304

>>9837252
It's very rudimentary to the point where it feels like it belongs on the Sega CD. This was pre-FFVII but it was post FFVI and Chrono Trigger or even Lunar Eternal Blue, so people were underwhelmed.

>> No.9837315

>>9837252
It's proto Golden Sun (made by same devs), but very rough.

>> No.9837321

The RPG mode of pic related is the worst RPG. It's not even a good fighting game. I was a stupid fucking kid when i bought this piece of shit. Literally the only game i ever regretted buying and i bought the Bill and Ted game for NES.

If its beyond byond, wouldn't that make byond rpgs that worst ever?

>> No.9837343

The story was rather standard but the challenge was fun, I loved the long levels with puzzles and constant difficult combat. The worst thing about the game is the fact that your fighter is cursed for basically the whole game. Fuck Samson, leave him out of the party, just use casters.

Quest64… how is this even a contest? I won’t let the nintoddlers memoryhole this one. The camera angles jump so hard it’s like it’s glitches every time you’re in a battle.

>> No.9837418

>>9837207
it wasn't so much bad as it was just incredibly mediocre. every single point in the game is dungeon -> town -> dungeon -> town

>> No.9837495

>>9837380
Earthbound isn't terrible if you can appreciate all the things about it that aren't exaclty gameplay related, other than the rolling health counter because that is cool. It's usually just painfully boring and mediocre battles. The more I think about it though the more I remember tedious and out right bullshit parts. It's probably in my top 50 favorite games but if you want a good turn based rpg I wouldn't look to Earthbound. If you want fun story and music in a setting that isn't typical to jrpgs then play it right now.

Beyond of Beyond is the definition of mediocre, picrel is worse than it for example.

And even Traysia is hardly the worst RPG, you can also find much worse stuff.

I worked at a video store for way too long. A recognize the cover of most of these movies made by The Asylum.

That said, I don't recall a single time where someone rented a knockoff and complained about it. I know I told at least one person that what they had brought up to the counter was the knock off. We only ever used to get one copy to rent too.

It wasn’t a great game at all, but it did feel fairly large and open back when it released. Hunting around for spirits and exploring towns felt cool. Also leveling up elements and unlocking new spells was exciting too. I’d still put this over Beyond the Beyond any day.

>retarded mechanic where you have 2 health meters essentially
>stupid high encounter rate
>best character at start is gimped by the curse of RNG making him annoying as fuck
>one of the few rpgs where running away from most battles is the better tactic- you can get all loot in an optional dungeon by just escaping every fight
>mostly bland and generic world and story

Best things i can say are its proto golden sun, the one chick in your party looks hot from the back of her sprite and id like to find full art of her, the sort of scifi twist near end thats kinda interesting and despite it all, the sequel bait in the underworld actually made me want to see a sequel. Game actually deserves a remake.

It looks awfully generic, and what's with the sound effect on hits? Visually, the 3D battles look even worse than the first Wild Arms.
I guess a bunch of RPGs that stayed in Japan have the same quality.

Traysia fucking sucked. I had it as a kid and got really far in it, but it just sucked too hard to complete. However, the music really stuck with me. There were a handful of really good songs. I was messing around with a new instrument one day and made an arrangement of the battle theme just for fun. It truly was excellent. Almost 30 years later and I still haven't forgotten it.
