What are the most informative retro game websites or YouTube channels? I lost my RSS feed a while ago and haven't bothered filling it up again.

Wikipedia, GameFAQs, LaunchBox Database

Not really big on YouTube channels but I have watched a fair bit of SEGA Lord X and Classic Game Room when it was around.

SEGA Genesis.

Does the Game Sack guy even play games? Feels like he's reading off a cereal box for all his list of videos.

You can't really beat GameFAQs in terms of catalogued information. It's gonna be wierd when they're finally gone.

Well, GameFAQs itself is already archived on the Wayback Machine and there's always IGN as well. My hope is that one day they'll update the Launchbox Database which I already kind of prefer in some ways for various reasons. It may sound kind of stupid but I really like that you can see the boxart for every game while scrolling through the database, sometimes you can discover a really cool title just by looking at the cover art.

Sure but when it's gone, it means people won't update it anymore.

I quite enjoy Displaced Gamers. This guy goes into the how and why retro games work, even going as far to display the code on screen and mess with it.
