This was a weird game.

It was but I really enjoyed it. But playing to win is so different from playing as the game intends as just turning your villages into breeding farms give you basically infinite influence range.

Makes you think

Soul is a term for southern/black culture, but I know you meant that it was more soulful

Well it's definitely funkier than the first game

The front cover is black, the back cover is white. For whatever reason they didn't repeat this with the sequel's box, probably because that was around the time they started putting disks in those ugly clamshell cd cases where the 4 CDs were literally just stacked on top of each other on a central knob

Based autist

Also, has anyone here managed to teach their pet to shit exclusively in the fields? I tried this when I decided to start playing it again about a year ago but quickly discovered that it was going to be way, WAY harder than I thought. In fact, I’m not even sure if it’s possible.

you can keep from goin evil
you just need to wiggle rocks a whole lot
also pepper in random nice guy miracles like the rain on the crops in front of a lot of people, or food in front of a large crowd
i also remember the heart-shaped miracle was really OP if used on a bunch of NPCs

but mostly what you wanna do is wiggle rocks
bonus points if you train your creature how to wiggle rocks for you

Oh yeah there's no point really, just punish them whenever they eat or kill one of your villagers.

I love Black and White 2, beaten it so many times.

My wife's favorite game right here. It makes you feel like god in a good way and I just dig the comfy colors and lighting. Has that nice look to it. Bringing back large memories to see this

>> No.9828378

any way to make it not look like shit on Win10? i did all the sensible stuff on pcgw

>there's no point really
Damn, I guess you're right. I was so wired on adderall that it didn't even occur to me that trying to force my stupid ape to drop his fat turds on the wheat was just a waste of time. Might give the game another go soon, but this time without such a ridiculous expectation.

On that note, does anyone know how to teach your pet to cast miracles? I think there's a mod dedicated to a setting a "map" for them learning them optimally, but from what I saw it was WAY more complicated than just a simple UI overlay that tells you where to go.

I've done it, but I remember it being luck that he shit in the field in the first place.

I remember getting frustrated with that level where the enemy people is so far away you can only send birds or very practiced projectiles just to impress a few.

There was another anon who said that it's basically random chance too. I would occasionally get him to shit on them, but it wasn't his INTENTION to do so. His actual intent was to take a shit on the house or the fence nearby, but I would click and redirect him so much that eventually he'd just freeze up and take a dump right then and there out of confusion I suppose. I'm quite sure that the AI is based on intent rathe than actual result, so for him to shit in a location without actually meaning to shit there probably doesn't have the intended/expected result.

Just make sure to properly patch it. You have to install all the official patches in release order aside from the haptic feedback one, then install the fan patch. Game runs like a dream even on win10 that way and the vast majority of bugs are gone now thanks to that fan patch, but it requires all the other patches being installed first because of the fucking wierd way this game is coded.

Isn't true at all. You can easily be good alignment and have it work. I think it just makes the game take a longer time iirc.

>> No.9828805

>>9828774
You’ll need to define “a longer time” more tangibly, anon. You can train your animal pretty succinctly in the very, very first island (Eden), but this is an incredibly tedious and lengthy process. B&W operates on an unreasonably lengthy time scale, and it far more than a basic investment of interest in order to achieve the game’s more notriously difficult goals.

i've never finished land 5 in the first game, it's just too much autism for me

In guess you could chain him to a rock in between fields. He'd have to shit on them then.

>> No.9829683

I gave up on being a good god. I was an evil god, but with a pristine good creature. He'd win their hearts and minds and then I'd punish them.
Of course, I had to keep all my evilness out of sight, but I think that made it kind of fun.

>> No.9830697

>>9826423
I find it impossible to be an evil god because all I do is expand my village. There's enough of every resource and I can just spam spells to convert enemy villages. Killing a few as a show of might is not enough to turn me into an evil god.
