I don't know where that comes from, there is nothing that hint at that in the prototype versions.

However the fact that the 2nd Yawn encounter is the only other boss fight (after the Tyrant in the lab) that doesn't have a freebie, a second way to deal with the fight if you don't have enough ammo, supports the theory that it was an afterthought.

That and... Yawn just dies but in the process makes a hole in the floor that happens to lead RIGHT to the secret place? I never thought about it but that shit is way too randomly stupid and convenient.

I'm playing it on saturn right now and I actually prefer the chonky saturn models. I think the backgrounds look better too. Also, people say there's slowdown but so far this has been pretty rock solid.

There isn't a lot of slowdown, there *can* be slowdown when some big models obstruct the camera but that's rare.
Loading times are slightly longer though but it's not a big difference.
