9791939 No.9791939 [Reply] [Original]

Not the best party, but the party that in terms of plot you think it should be the ones to beat Lavos.

>> No.9791948

Either Crono, Marle and Lucca or Crono, Frog and Magus.

>> No.9791969

>>9791948
But reviving Chrono is an non-canon sidequest.

What?

>> No.9792084

>>9791969
It uses the "Chrono Trigger" so it must be canon

>> No.9792093

Crono, Marle, Ayla so Crono (the self insert character) can celebrate saving the world with a three-way with the hottest female party characters.
>inb4 mentally ill Lucca fags that definitely turned out trans

>> No.9792108

>>9791939
As a non-binary Genderfluid transgender woman who goes by the pronouns La/Vos, i definitely think that Lucca, Robot and Frog (it's an animal so it doesnt offends me) should be the final party, with Lucca leading them.

Original party, imagine ever replacing the OG crew with other characters, yikes

Magus has the strongest motivation, Robo gives a based speech, and Frog is just the icing on the cake, especially since he is teaming up with his nemesis

>> No.9792215

>>9792208
Third place is kinda of a vacant position.
I'd like Ayla there because she's the opposite of Robo timelinewise and Lavos reached the planet on her age, so she's basically finishing hunting down the prey that escaped her then.

>> No.9792239

>>9791939

realistically you can bring any party member since all 7 of them have personal motivation to want to fight Lavos, although Robo probably has the least and Magus has the most. I don't think there's one canon party, Chrono Trigger was great about making sure every character and time period you visit ties back to Lavos in some way.

>> No.9792256

>>9792215
Never thought of Ayla having much motivation, she would most likely lose to the reptites if it wasn't for Lavos, only thing I can think of is that he's a outsider alien interfering with "natural" selection

>> No.9792281

>>9792239
I'd think the three member party is just a gameplay limitation, canonically they're all there.
I know there's an excuse of "destabilizing the whatever" if they all go to a time period simultaneously, but it goes out of the window anytime the plot has them together somewhere.

>> No.9792354

>>9792281
Gaspard told them that too much people traveling in space and time at the same time is disrupting the Space and Time continuum and as a result they all could be stuck inside the wormhole they're traveling from point A to B. Hence how the party got to the End of Time in the first place after meeting Robo while trying to go back to 1000AD

Here's how i see that:
>1. Those who started the journey end the journey
Crono, Marle, Lucca.

>2. Those who want to kill Lavos the most
Marle, Crono, Magus. (my personal favorite)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5B-JRDsSqec
Marle was the one who forced Crono and Lucca into this journey by clumsily touch that button in 2300. All Lucca wanted was to go home in the first place and technically "didn't give a fuck" about what was happening in that period before seeing the recordings. If it wasn't for Marle, they would have just go home and try to forget about this place. So obviously you got Marle leading, then Crono. As for Magus, he gave his entire life scheming into find a way to kill Lavos, it's his obsession, even if that means selling his soul to the devil which he did and turned into a demon, from the mystics, to trying to summon in in 600AD, to turning into a fake prophet back to 12000BC etc. In that case, he's a Lavos "cobelligerent" and works with Marle & Crono without really being friends with them.

(In the case where Crono isn't revived)

3. Frog, Marle, Magus
Marle & Magus keep their same motives (though Marle is even more mad), and this time Frog tries to avenge Crono, who he became good friends with. He carries on the fight and this time leads the group

(In the case where Crono isn't revived, Magus defeated by Frog)

4. Frog, Marle, Lucca
Frog tries to avenge Crono AND Cyrus, he still hold gruges with Magus and got really mad when Magus mocked Crono's death. In this case, he still can't stand Magus and wants to kill him for good.

5. Everything else, with Robo being dead last, since he's a product of the post Day of Lavos. If we go by a certain logic, he certainly doesn't want to erase himself from history since he wouldn't exist should Lavos be defeated (unless he was born before the day of Lavos)

Which in terms of priority, would be for me:
1. Magus
2. Marle
3. Crono
4. Lucca
5. Frog
6. Ayla
7. Robo

If I remember correctly, he said more than 3 people can't go through the time portals.

But there's nothing stating that you can't send 3 people through, and then send another 3 people through.

when this game inevitably gets remade like Live a Live i wonder if they're going to pull what that remake did and have a final, final final form of the final boss where every party member shows up to beat it

>> No.9793520

>>9793503
As cool as that could be, if they did that in a hypothetical HD-2D Chrono Trigger remake I think it would be one too many times and make me think, "Oh, they're doing this again?" Once was cool, but if you keep repeating it for every HD-2D remake, it kinda loses its charm.

Robo would have been from 1999 at latest, the world halted its development after Lavos and the people living post are basically the same as the cavemen except without the benefits of the planets bounty to nourish them. Robo even asks wtf happened to the dome he is in when activated.

>> No.9793665

>>9793503
Id kind of like a full remake that brings it up to the style of the 3D dragon quests and lets you experience some of 1999 and a barbarian human civilization in the antiquities age. I dont mind a remake if it keeps the tone of the original and i see it more like the original being a book and a remake being the movie adaptation that lets you experience more of that original world that limitations didn't allow.

>> No.9793667

>>9793654
I thought Robo said he and his whole line were made after Lavos nuked the world. I think he admits that he's not sure if he'll still exist if Lavos is stopped but is willing to risk it if it means the world never dies.

>> No.9793681

>>9793667
I started replaying the original snes version recently in english and unless the translation in jap is different, he initially shows shock where im pretty sure he outright asks wtf happened to those living in the dome. Maybe the translator fucked up? It wouldn't make much sense for them to be built after since after Lavos it seems everything is just fucked and i can't see them building stuff unless the factories were still auto producing Robos model.

Also all of them (plus even others) all being in 1000ad in the canon ending.

Anyway, for the Lucca camp thing, i just figured Robo was already there working for Fiona, three got there via the gate key and the other three via the Epoch.

Like i said above, tho, how tf did all those people get to 1000ad in the canon ending? THAT is the true mystery.
