I'm going to guess that's when I was playing Baldur's Gate 2. I didn't play Deus Ex until after Nine Eleven. What's crazy is that Silent Hill 2 would have been the first game I purchased after 9/11. Then soon after I would have got the Xbox with Halo.
I knew our freedoms were being erased at the time, but what was a kid just starting highschool supposed to do about it? We were supposed to be fighting against the "terrorists" but all our Government did was imediatly give in to their demands. They changed our way of life for the worse. Eroded what made this Country. You never really think about what these games were taking your mind off of later in life.
