Has anyone completed this game?

Anyway, I have a problem I hope /vr/ might give the answer to.

I'm on my 2nd digimon now, a Tyrannomon. My first one became a Centarumon and it learned Magma Bomb. This was passed on to my next digimon. When my 2nd digimon was an Agumon, it could use Magma Bomb, but Tyrannomon can't. Why not?

This game was hard for a kid. I remember not getting very far, maybe as far as pic. My digimon always became that yellow shit digimon too. It didn't stop me from loving the game though.

Digimon world 2 and 3 were much easier and 3 is my favorite by far.

>> No.977336

>>977331

It turned into Sukamon because you let it crap everywhere.

My problem with this game, as someone who just recently played it for the first time, is that with your first digimon the game stacks you up with chips that improve your digimon's brain/offence/defence etc. So naturally you use it on the digimon you have, and everything's going alright with a powerful digimon by your side.

Then your first digimon dies.

While you now know better how to discipline and train your digimon, it's now nearly impossible to get the same stats as the first one, without wasting far too much time in the gym. And don't fucking bother with >>975948, you're better off throwing your computer in the trash.

So now you're stuck either fighting weak enemies that give you fuckall in return, or attempt to fight the ones that you can't beat with your new, inferior digimon.

>> No.977635

>>977326
It worked for me. I went through the final area and beat the boss. I had Metal Greymon, now he was a badass mofo.

>> No.977658

I beat story mode by using Metalgreymon. Since raising stats that high is a fucking nightmare, I focused on weight, care mistakes, and the bonus criteria of having won like 30 or 50 battles or whatever it was. He was much weaker than he could have been, but still decent enough to beat the game by spamming enough recovery chips with the right moveset.

Also, did anyone ever fucking figure out the exact methods to unlock Phoenixmon, Herculeskabuterimon, and the other "hidden" Digimon (I think Megaseadramon? I don't remember) that was teased about in the player's guide but had its stats/requirements blanked?

And also, what the fuck was up with all those shitty Gameshark codes from back in the day? Play as Wargreymon/Metalgarurumon/Piedmon/Machindramon (last one might have been real) with dummied out items for glitchy Digimon like Gigadramon.

Man, this game was a mess, but I loved it and had fun anyway. I think the problem I had with it was I expected it to be like the anime, since the anime came out first in the US and this game didn't come out until like, the first season was 3/4 of the way done in the US. I was weirded out, not expecting a Digimon pet simulation game. The magazines I read barely talked about this game, just teasing with vague release dates that had me hyped the fuck up. The first time I read anything at all about how the game actually played was when I went to get the player's guide a week before it came out.

Special gameshark-only digivolution items were the Giga Hand (Gigadramon), Metal Banana (MetalEtemon) and the Noble Mane (Panjyamon).

Were the Gameshark-only items (Gigadramon, MetalEtemon, Panjyamon) available in Japan as Pocketstation bonuses? That seemed to be a small trend with Japanese RPGs for a while on the Playstation. Japan gets exclusive shit because of the Pocketstation, so instead of working it into the US version somehow, they just dropped it and left vague leftovers.

The PAL versions for the game have several game breaking glitches like that. The most noticeable being at Ogremon's Hideout. I've also heard about the warp problem in Mount Infinity.

I've never heard anything about DW being Pocketstation compatible.

It would make sense since Digimon started as a virtual pet sort of thing, so it would be right at home there.

I recall hearing that the Metal Banana was randomly obtainable from Etemon instead of the Golden Banana. Can't remember the details though, so probably completely untrue.

Also you need it to actually go into toy town. Can't go in without it. I think He's vaccine as well so you can take him into the ice sanctuary to get angemon.

I did(?). Had to use the gameshark before actually understand the game and do it by myself and still that Machinedramon at Myotimansion was infernal.

The best time i had with that game were the fishing time, the colloseum, collecting the cards... and the curling game!. And i was scared like a little girl when i saw Greymon going after me...

Remember the first digimon evolved right, i was so hapy because it won't be those 2 shits.

>Agumon is digievolving.
>It digivolved into Bakemon.

... All of my rage, and to all the other digimons that never appeared in File city.

>Machinedramon at Myotimansion

You mean SkullGreymon, right? Skull Greymon is at the mansion, Machindramon is the final boss in Mt. Infinity.

Also, was anyone else weirded out the the Myotismon in this game was so downright friendly, considering the anime's Myotismon?

No, it was Machinedramon in the larger room with coffins; don't have screen becasue was on console.

If i saw a SKGreymon, it wasn't there.

I got in, and I had a Tyrannomon at the time, I think.

Unless you mean getting in the door in the upped building. That didn't work.

Toy Town.

I actually had Greymon in Ice Sanctuary, and I exited before Angemon talked to me, because I thought he already joined the city. Then I couldn't get back in. Didn't save though.

Yeah you need monzaemon to get into the locked building & I checked he can go into ice sanctuary as well.

In toy town you have to fight warmonzaemon & when you beat him it recruits another monzaemon to your town which makes your gym better I think
