I think black carts are technically classified as Color games, so, no. Link's Awakening DX was released in a Game Boy Color-branded box, for example.

as a kid I had:
Alleyway
Wario Land 1,2
Motocross Maniacs
Kirby's Dream Land
Mega Man 1
Donkey Kong Land
Mortal Kombat 2
Pokémon Blue
and I was given Link's Awakening

a friend lended me a bootleg cart which had like 30 actual games too

maybe something else but I don't remember now

I'm playing the Donkey Kong Land trilogy as we speak and i'm having a blast, probably more fun than

other games I played along the years:
The TMNT games, Super C, Mega Man series, Castlevania II (1 and 3 suck)

Marathoning few most popular Nintendo franchises in release order, and got many GB titles in a row lately: recently finished DK Land and Super Mario Land, halfway through Kirby's Dream Land 2 and about to start Metroid ~~Land~~ II.

DKL - solid af platformer, although less challenging than DKC. The soundtrack is just top notch, I probably enjoyed it even more than the SNES one.

Mario Land - disliked at first for the stiff and non-Mario-like physics, but kinda enjoyed towards the end. Now I know the origin of this sort of Egyptian setting in the Smash Brawl campaign. Wish they added a password for the hard mode so you don't lose it after restarting the game. Constantly checking if my RetroArch tab still works while I'm not playing did no good for my anxiety.

Dream Land 2 - pretty good, but I liked the first one and Adventure more. Not sure why tho, probably because the levels aren't challenging enough for the new features.

I love DKL as well, DKL2 and 3 are really good too though less unique than 1 was. I liked 2 more than 3, the later felt too simple and easy and that it lost too much compared to the SNES title

Always wondered, how GB games mostly hold up better today than NES ones despite being released for an inferior platform? And what's up with the "Land" subtitle in so many games, what does it mean?

NES was more expandable through mappers but the base GB hardware was better.

I suspect Super Mario Land was named that while Super Mario World was still in development or was around the corner, so the Land contrasts as a smaller game than the World.

The Donkey Kong Land games are probably paying homage to Super Mario Land. They came out after the country games. There isn't really a big size difference between a land and a country, so it has to be a reference to the "land" side series of Mario games.

Kirby's Dream Land is probably unrelated.

OK. Just my opinion, but GB games although being limited by screen size and visibility, tend to feel much less clunky and archaic than the NES ones. Probably game design development over time also mattered, besides the hardware.

Outside of screen size, resolution and FOV the only difference is that GB games as a whole tend to be easier and shorter than NES games. The GB doesn't nearly has as many good games as the NES, only the PSX does.

Can't believe I almost got filtered by this bullshit. The levels in this game seemed to be very short and easy, but when it comes to looking for the rainbow drops with a specific friend+ability combo it's just annoying. Since that fucking fish can't shoot fire downwards, I had to get rid of the blocks on my way by quickly dropping the ability, inhaling a block, then inhaling the ability back before it disappears in a fraction of a second and repeat because my buddy is too fat for a 1 block hole. It's not even challenging, it's retarded.

Battle Unit Zeoth is awesome
Shmup with a health bar instead of exploding after every hit like a fag, mostly progressive powerups that feel useful and powerful, good control over movement, not to mention controlling direction of fire, levels stay fresh, difficulty level easy enough for a kid to beat and still feel accomplished, and best of all the bosses are giant mysterious bulletspraying mechanical alien horrors. Short and sweet.
I want more games like this.

does n e one know if pic related has been dumped? i cant find a rom of it anywhere.
i got the same cart with my gameboy i got as a 7/8yo back in the early 90's, obviously a bootleg cart, my dad got it either from jersey or guernsey, about 30yrs ago, thought someone might have dumped it by now.
i still have it as well as another which has 220-in-1. if not i may have to get something to dump it myself.

also pretty sure i heard u can dump games with the gamecube gameboy player, but may only work for GBA not GB/GBC not certain.
