All the ones I've played (except 7 and 9) are pretty equal in my mind but I find myself replaying 5 the most.
7 gets too repetitive by the end (seriously, fuck that lighthouse) and 9 not only has the worst story in the series, but also feels like a chore to play thanks to it pretending to be a MMORPG.

I got a death threat once. Hunters were hunting in a zone WAY too close to habitations and children plus were parked in a very dangerous way after a turn, I knew one of the guy from work and so I told him to park elsewhere.
Next day at work I got a death threat from him in front of several other coworkers. My boss defended him, guy did whatever the fuck he wanted often coming in drunk and insulting customers and they let it be because "he has a tough job and we'd never find someone else to do it".
So I went to the police about the threat. All I got was getting it logged so that if he does kill me in the future, he'll get a harsher sentence.
I left that cursed work place soon after.

Emphasis on "plausibly." There's a difference between saying "I'm going to fucking kill you, you idiot" to your friend and "Here is your address, I am going to murder you tomorrow, etc." One is a plausible threat, the other is understood to not be serious by any reasonable person. Death threats are already illegal in America, so you're wrong. Without knowing more about this case in Japan and the exact posts, we can't say if the arrest was justified or not.

I find this whole series to be incredibly boring.
I only managed to enjoy DQ8 because it had voice acting and it was british and funny.
Honestly I think brit VAs and Dragon Quest fit like peanut butter and jelly

Funny you say that. I was working on an uncensor patch for DQ4 NES, I had almost everything down except the text stuff related to the priest and the church. Problem is I introduced a glitch and I still haven't fixed it. The glitch has nothing to do with anything I changed + it appears before the game is even started so it pissed me off and I got the project on hold. I have no idea what kind of duct tape the game is held with to have a glitch like that when nothing I edited should be of relation.

Your post is wild because the same thing happened to me, lol. I did an english translation of Theatrhythm for arcade and ran into the same thing. Honest to god all I was doing was photoshopping images, removing japanese text and replacing it with english text.Then for some reason, one image made every song on the tracklist have their difficulty numbers replaced with zero. All original versions. NES for 1,2,3,4, SNES for 5 and 6, PSX for 7 and PS2 for 8. All the remakes make the game easier, only acceptable remake is the PS2 version of 5 but I'd still recommend playing the og first. Stay away from the DS versions unless you're a zoomie with nostalgia for the DS.
