The real criticism about the remake is the addition of extra puzzles. puzzle fags ruin everything- I don’t want to replay a game and have to redo 50 puzzles everytime. Either A: you memorize them so it’s boring and tedious to repeat 50 simple puzzles every playthrough or B: you didn’t memorize them and you have to resolve the same 50 puzzles everytime you play. it breaks up the momentum of the game and artificially inflates the playtime. If anything people should be suspicious of games with so many puzzles because often times they make the game seem like they have more content than they do because they make a play through take longer. Just keep it to a less autistic number like a handful of puzzles. not one every 20 minutes.

Nigger, you're talking about classic RE, the games where half of the playtime is backtracking

Yes, the place isn't overtly sinister in the original, which is the point of it being an Umbrella coverup to begin with. The seemingly innocuous PS1 mansion has more of a "what the fuck is going on here" vibe and makes the enemies scarier through the contrast.

Is it possible for you to send it over and send it back to the point where you can send a new one of your own designated words and the creation is not the same as the result of the younger generation being repulsed by the users on the board of a single person on the site to get a good idea on what you want

I like both, but the original mansion has a very uncanny and eerie feeling of something just recently happened. The whole beginning sets up the tension even with the meme voice acting. The cheesy acting almost makes it more surreal like a fever dream. All the way up until about mid game, then it gets less eerie and feels more action movie paced. The puzzles are meh, but if they were harder I don't think it would have been as popular as it was. Great game. It will always be the only game that can give me a little spook.

Why do low info, low IQ, never were there '96 secondaries insist on dying on this hill?

'96 was rightly regarded upon released as japahino AotD and bullycided for its atrocious writing in scenario, characterization and dialog. The "what fuck the fuck is going on here" vibe stems from the ugly, amateurish presentation that descends into pure kitsch by the time you return to the main hall juxtaposed with clunky in translation horror themes (Itchy. Tasty.)

'96's mansion is clashing, garish, non-functional and thematically disjointed. The argument that the grounded mansion adds something to the game has never held water, because in what world do SWAT team members run around without a radio and a long gun? The feebleness and retardation of the scenario only increases from there, and the "groundedness" of the Spencer grounds is just an excuse for lazy, inept and boorish environment design. RE2 and REmake shit down '96's throat from the production design angle.

Im not a giant resident evil 1 fan. Your post is so poorly written I can’t read through it. I think that the zombies are scarier to face in the mansion opposed to the labs, that’s just my experience. I think that the general look of the mansion seeming more realistic to the average player is why. My favorite resident evil is 4 so I’m not attached to resident evil 1. Also this game is a 90s game portraying something happening in some tiny poorly funded town, so for narratives sake maybe the characters weren’t doing everything by the book. I never overthought any of it. I think resident evil 1 is pretty boring so like I said I’m not really a huge fan but I disagree with you about the mansion. I think it was a brilliant and scary environment and I find it a lot more interesting and atmospheric than the lab and underground section.

This is unironically a better setting.
The only thing scarier than a typical haunted house is a house that looks completely normal - well-lit, even - with monsters hiding just out of sight. It creates a sense that things look normal, but are really, REALLY not normal under the surface.

Anon, that's just how RE1 characters look and the depth issue when multiple models are close to each other is in every PS1 games. They only fixed that in RE3 by making Jill one complete model instead of body parts clipping into each other like in RE1 and 2.

Thing is when you blow up the resolution like that you will see seams and clipping that were otherwise masked by the low resolution.

PGXP depth buffer fixes this. Downsampling looks better than hi res models on low res backgrounds. A CRT filter looks better still, but that's a bit more subjective.
