Super Bomberman 5 was the best Super Bomberman game.

There, I said it.

>> No.9722410

though I've never played 4 so I don't really know how it compares to the others

4 feels kinda rushed

94 is the best, 93 is my personal favorite though

super 3 is cool cuz its like a sequel to 94 (though slightly uglier) but final boss is impossible

What the fuck is it about this mascot that has always been so likeable to me?

simple design
simple but fun game

I like these. 5 is a nice comp for SuFami Bomberman.

How's Saturn anyway? That's another Bomberman game that I just never got around to playing mostly because I never had a Saturn and never cared to emulate it

Congratulations. You finally accomplished something.
Now we can debate whether your opinion on a small fraction of the games is the best.

>>9722531
Saturn is the best released retro game in the series.

>> No.9723329

Low bar. All the PC Engine Bomberman games are better, Mega Bomberman is better, and Saturn Bomberman is leagues better. Due to hardware limitations, primarily the slow and bottlenecked CPU, the SNES games suffer from being restricted to a single screen at a time, with the exception of 2, which suffers from crippling and debilitating slowdowns as a result of it's screen scrolling, this was not an issue nor limitation seen in Bomberman games for the various other more powerful 16-bit hardwares, or the Saturn. Once again Nintendo's shoddy and underperformant hardware held back these games from their true potential.

Yes, the Mega Drive, AND the PC Engine, are 3 TIMES more powerful.

>higher clock speed = "x times more powerful"
looks like someone doesn't understand how CPUs work
hint: even CPUs with lower clock speeds can still execute more instructions per clock cycle; clock speed is not the only factor in how fast/powerful a CPU is

now go back to >>>/v/ with your console war faggotry, zoomzoom

I need more of a "hint" than that, how about you tell me exactly which instructions the SNES executes faster and what they do? Try not to get too mad when you discover that the SNES actually needs MORE clock cycles to do useful arithmetic and data migration instructions.
>>9723556
Nice made-up spec sheet, which YouTuber did you get that from?
"3.6 mhz" is a fabrication, and so is "512x448".

I want a saturn bomberman Hi-Ten hack that lets me play 10 player across two systems. Ideally using the serial port but the modem would also work. I already have the hardware that allows the video signals to be combined side by side into an HDTV signal. Even without that, why did they not think to make 10, or even 20, player system link an option?

So we all agree boxhead bomberman is canon bomberman x and roundface bomber is the prototype?

mega bomberman is a shoddy port of 94, it even has slowdown

The SNES had higher resolution modes that are used in some games. For example the Fighting Game Ranma 1/2: Chounai Gekitou Hen uses a 256x448 resolution.
