This is my ModChipped SCPH-5501 (June 1997)
Which psx model did/do u own? And which is the best?
I always thought it’s the 550x
(In case some of u r illiterate, the last number signifies the region)

SCPH-5502 with a PU-18 motherboard inside making it compatible with both the XStation ODE and PS1Digital HDMI mods at the same time - neither of which I have lol.

5501/pu18 is the best, easiest to mod, most support for mods, upgraded gpu over earlier models and free of issues causing hardware failure

the earlier models have better video output, dont they?

Does that webm look like it has "better video output" to you, motherfucker? Are you blind?

I have a 7501, it's not compatible with anything extra. I've never opened it so I don't know if it could have a modchip inside.

>> No.9722036

I have an SCPH-1001. From what I understand they're notorious for having shitty laser assemblies that fail over time. When that started happening with mine I just replaced the laser with one from a PSone. Also put a modchip in that bad boy, naturally.
