I had more fun sneaking around the levels taking bots out 1 by 1 in offline CS1.6 than I even did playing Go online. I'm considering downloading a huge map pack for 1.6 and doing that again, just clearing maps full of bots. It's very fun

Because it's nothing like what I do. I played games where I spawn alone against a team of bots and quietly hunt them down. I listen and try to figure out where they are, I try to ambush and hide. What I'm doing isn't a cinematic shooter campaign.
And also Condition Zero didn't exist when I did that, that was like 2002. Also it's shit.

i played cs on pc prior to 1.6 and bought cs on xbox at launch. i adore both. i also played cs:cz, source, and go.

cs on xbox is derived from cs:cz, not 1.6. that's not really up for debate.

it's not a 1:1 port, it doesn't have tour of duty, hence why it's not called cz. maybe that's where we're getting our communication breakdown? i could have been more specific

I will never forget the time the pipes froze in my junior high school and I was off for a week and spent the entire time playing on a 24/7 militia server with the nextdoor neighbors kid. The firefights in the sewers, unironically buying NV, the firefights in the main yard. I miss CS so much bros. It's gone and it's never coming back.
