Probably the N64 but Quake is one of those games you should play on PC always.

They're all pretty rough, like trying the play the game on minimum spec PCs back in the day.
Now, that's playable, but it's also a bit like playing Doom on the SNES in the year 2023 (if maybe not quite as rough), interesting to see what it's like, but if you aren't curious for technical reasons, it's extremely hard to recommend playing these ports.

Fuck me, that looks excellent, you can really get your Quad Groove on. Shame it's a recent homebrew, iD could easily have provided a port of Quake 1 as a bonus throw-in for one of the Quake 3 ports, just for the hell of it.
Even if it'd be an old game which would look dated for the hardware, it's still a good little classic and it would add value to the product, also being by far the best console port of the game of its day.

That's me being an idealist again though. Maybe it'd have been bothersome to try to negotiate the soundtrack rights with Reznor again, but then, they could probably just use Hodge's music if they had to.
