bah this game. i agree it’s got great music and cool pokémon mechanics. but the gameplay is too easy. am i crazy? snes ff2 and ff3 are way more challenging. it’s hard to go from that to this.

lol I know but is there any reason to play / replay this today? Or do I file this under mario is missing.

There's nothing special with the gameplay or anything. If you've got a kid who's like 5, 6, 7 years old or so, maybe an easygoing game like this would be something he could get into easy and have some fun with, and you could sit with him and enjoy the music, maybe give him a hint if he should seem puzzled at any part.

Setting out to be a newbie friendly entrylevel RPG, I think it actually does that well.

The reason to play it would be to play an especially easy JRPG with as especially light story. I guess that's about it. If you don't want that then yeah just get the .spc files so you can listen to the soundtrack by itself I guess.
