Are those the ones from printer boy? How's the quality? I've been thinking about getting some but it's like $200 to get enough for my entire collection and international shipping so I want to make sure they're good before I go all in. Aside from dust I thought they would be good for protecting from UV light. What's that blue thing?

>> No.9636984

>>9636968
I got them from ebay and I just checked they are printer boy. I just checked out their site I didnt know they come in three different materials. I think mine are Vinyl Premium but I dont know for sure. theyre thick, feel like leather, look good and fit good.

and that blue thing is my mister. I didnt want to spend $50 for a shitty aluminum case with wires coming out everywhich way that plugs directly into the de10's ports wearing them out so I made my own for about the same price

Not just the dust covers

>> No.9637183

unless it's really bad I would advise against it, the ps2 is very easy to short with just a single partially seated ribbon cable, the fan wire and power/reset cable both have to be held in place just so or else its resting position will be right over a bottom case screw hole. if the dust is bad enough to justify opening it up just do a quick filter clean with the guts remaining intact.

>> No.9637234

>>9637183
What the fuck are you talking about? The screw near the power/reset buttons is recessed into the top cover of the dvd drive. You'd have to be a veritable retard to cause a short there. If you're so worried about it, just put some duct tape over the screw hole. The fan wire? I don't understand. That thing, like all cables, has sheathing. Are you afraid you're gonna put a screw through it when putting it back together? Shouldn't be that hard to avoid that scenario. Oh, ribbon cables. The great retard filter. Yeah, seat them properly, don't break em in the process. So hard. Also don't un- and replug them 10 times.

I'm simply saying that you're introducing a lot of realistic fail conditions by opening up the system and moving components around, just don't do it if it's only a lark and not a practical necessity for overheating.

I'm still a firm windex man, since I buy the bulk concentrate from costco for normal use around the house anyways.
I don't have pictures, but last year I did all of my consoles and controllers at once. Dumped everything into the bathtub and stirred in hot water and windex, let it sit, then brushed everything over before rinsing everything with the showerhead and drying them out in the backyard.

>>9635250

How is it keeping everything hooked up with these on? Lately I've found that I don't play many of my consoles for several months but I don't want to put them away when they're dormant.

They make dust covers? Thats actually pretty cool.

I clean my consoles once a year. Take an old mechanical toothbrush I don't need and scrub down the shell, blow dust out with a can of compressed air, and alcohol the pins/connectors down.

That was my first thought, don’t some of the systems get hot enough, if not to mess w the case, mess w the internals. Seems like it could.
