well, if you're somehow being sincere, very solid game, wouldn't say it's the best game of all time or even one of my favorite games period, but it did a lot right especially in such a rough time for gaming what with 3d being new; basically the super metroid of 3d adventure games. now go laugh in my face for actually bothering to effortpost at nearly 7am when i'm tired as fuck, going to bed now but just know that if you're trolling, i'll tell you something that can cut you like a knife...

This is literally the most overrated game in history. I can concede that it's a good game, even though I didn't like it, but best game of all time? My balls lmao

The graphics are obviously outdated, the gameplay overall works fine, and that's a great plus if you remember how bad most games of its time aged. Still, this fucking series has the most generic medieval western european setting, unappealing story, characters with the charisma of an 89 yo lady.

Also, the design of the maps in general are not that good, the worlds are simply not interesting to explore at all. The art direction is also pretty lame. And, to top it all, the dull, shitty N64 graphics make this boring-ass world with poor art direction and bad map design simply unbearable even to see. It's just so fucking ugly.

A Link to the Past had a huge advantage in the fact that it was well-drawn at least, which made it visually appealing. But Ocarina of Time makes me want to vomit

The problem is that this game has such a dedicated cult fanbase that they are absolutely brainwashed and blind to anything that goes beyond their mantras. This and childhood nostalgia, which make things even worse

yeah i'd say so, have the controls set however ya feel like is best. personally i prefer the c buttons on the right c-stick, also L is rarely used so have it be on select or the click the stick in command. the rest are just how they are on n64

Twilight Princess has the same advantage. It had beautiful graphics in 2006, and honestly they have aged very well. It's still very appealing visually.

I wish I could try Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild, but so far, my experience with the Zelda series has been very disappointing. A Link to the Past was just ok, Ocarina of Time was lame, and I have no interest in even trying Zelda I and II.

Even though I'm capable of recognizing its achievements, I can clearly see that a lot of the hype surrounding this series is childhood nostalgia and the religious cult that Nintendo ignited in the 80's

That would be any PS1 JRPG, Rockstar game or shitty "hurr did it first" like Tony Hawk. OoT is huge, has near perfect controls, camera, UI, is packed with exploration and level design, a great OST and probably the best visuals of its generation relative to size (MM is technically better but the composition isn't nearly as genteel) and literally helped revolutionizing and defining video games

Everyone who shitposts OoT is either a zoomer or an insane person who doesn't know what he's talking about
