On the other hand, the original Front Mission is a pretty decent game. Sadly, 2 and Alternative, which are the best games in the entire franchise, will never get a proper translation. And 3-5 are fucking mediocore and overrated. And Evolved is just an utter turd.

Hagane is trying way too hard to be a hardcore platformer. It's like a poor man's Strider and Shinobi.
Shadowrun is a nice concept, pretty shitty game. Same thing with Genesis / Mega Drive version.

Actraiser 2 is a better action game than the first, and it has much better graphics. If you're looking for a dumbed down god-game for children, like the first one had, then you'll be disappointed. But if you like challenging actions games, then I highly recommend it.

Everyone knows the major titles; they're the ones being sold at ridiculous prices online and in used stores.

To contribute I like Pocky & Rocky 2; haven't played 1 but it's said to be good and is one the aforementioned ridiculously priced games. The Star Wars games are good but hard: Empire is hardest; RotJ is probably the most fun. Run Saber is... weird, short but fun.

Oh, and Tetris Attack just to chill with the music.

Daffy Duck is a decent game. It's a platform-shooter similar to Mega Man, but in addition to jumping and shooting, Daffy can use his cape as a shield to block enemy projectiles. It's probably the best of Sunsoft's Looney Toons games.

That bit when you're fighting those floating heads while trying to land hits on the flame on that statue? It's not the hardest thing ever, but denying that it's challenging is just silly. The boss fights are miles ahead of the first game and the levels design is mostly better as well, except for some boring stuff like the bug nest.
Actraiser is cool because it mixes platforming with sim elements, but both aspects of the game are very basic and kinda mediocre. Actraiser 2 is maybe not a must play title, but it's still a really good platformer.

Not really a SNES game. That was where I first experienced its glory, though. Not sure why I didn't play it on PC as well though, because unlike most 90s kids, I was always into games on both PCs and consoles.

Incidentally, all my favorite games are (mostly) PC games.

I also think Super Castlevania 4 is a must play. Did I get that number right?

tetris battle gaiden: several times better than any other tetris for competitive play. if someone mentions another tetris game they are a clueless FAGGOT
contra 3: I couldn't believe that someone actually mentioned this, he isn't a dumbass at least. not a truly great game but it highlighted what snes was all about, making old properties FUCKING AWESOME
super castlevania 4: yes it is still the best fucking platformer of all time
