If you're emulating, use something like Genesis Plus GX that can do accurate (like Nuked) YM2612 emulation. A lot of the better music on that system, like Streets of Rage 2 used some tricky chiptune magic and if the chip's not emulated 100%, like most emulators, it sounds like absolute ass

I'm not the poster you've replied to, but I'll answer it since Sonic 3D Blast is a favorite of mine. I'll agree that the OST is the best aspect of it, it's sublime even to this day, however I wouldn't say that the rest is bad. When it comes to the speed, it's definitely slower than previous Genesis installments, however it does have a thing in common with them, once you know the level layouts a bit, which isn't too hard to get the hang of since they're not too big, going fast is viable, you never reach the speed you'd expect from Sonic, which is a bummer, and most players will take it slow at first, but it can be played fast with some practice... and rating it purely as an isometric collectathon platformer, it's perfectly fine, and can be fun for those that are into the genre, it's not Super Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie, not even close, but it's the closest Sonic has ever gotten to a collectathon, so it's interesting to play for that alone.
