In the media? Absolutely, no idea why or how this obscure horror game from a nobody developer became the target of media vultures in the UK but it's funny considering how tame it actually is. I don't think anyone who plays video games expected it to be anywhere near as intense as it was made out to be.

I'm kind of the same way, good atmosphere or an interesting narrative can keep me invested even with poor gameplay. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say it plays pretty badly but overall I still would recommend it. I'm a huge fan of the original Silent Hill series and feel like this game retains the spirit of tbe first four games better then any western SH title honestly. Sadly the production value is nowhere near as good, the sound design in particular is rather weak, but the actual vision the devs had is something genuinely special. Real unfortunate case ofva game where I feel like with a proper budget and development time it could have been something genuinely phenomenal but still, as is I think it's an interesting game and hope maybe one day something can come from it. Even a rerelease would be nice, but an updated port could do wonders for it.
