Would you consider Mega Man X6 the videogame equivalent of St. Anger?

>> No.9568558

What?

>> No.9568562

Why did they call their album Street Anger? Is it about road rage?

No. X6 is borderline shovelware while Metallica unironically put effort into St. Anger and were expecting it to be a massive hit.

I love MMX6 and the story.
The music is banging!

Oh boy another thinly-veiled not-video games thread.

Did they not notice that the end result was a massive shit?

>> No.9569625

The "video game version of St. Anger" would have to be something bad that was the attempt of an older franchise cluelessly trying to keep up with the times.

I'd say Shadow The Hedgehog seems appropriate but to be honest I never played it.

no, this actually was somewhat ok, unlike st anger which was an insult to all their fans

Shadow The Hedgehog is more like the videogame equivalent of Results May Vary

Mega Man X6 is the Dark Souls of early 2000s 2D platformers

This, shit as it was St. Anger was meant to keep Metallica relevant. In which case, the Mega man equivalent would be X7.

I wish they switched the Shieldner Sheldon alternate path

The reploid that provides the Jumper part cannot be infected

Amazing didn’t know this. Thanks for the update!

I'd say >>9570895 kind of nailed it. X5 was the Load (the point where shit really went south). X6 was the Reload (made out of leftovers from the previous one). X7 was the true St. Anger. X8 was the Death Magnetic (trying to recapture goodwill from earlier in the career/franchise).

Though X1-X4 don't really fit in the jigsaw puzzle, as I'd say Metallica peaked with the second entry, while X peaked with the first. Metallica also stopped being good after the 80's, while MMX stopped being good after the 90's.

Spoilered since it's not technically not a retro answer, but something like this?

Unironically the best X game... if you use the romhack to fix all the bugs and add QoL improvements.
