is any of the retro games still fun and played a lot online?
Were all of these created by a gay native?

If you're too lazy to check for yourself, you're too lazy to play.

Damn the Quake community sucks. Guess it's dead

Quake is a good choice especially since the remaster.

>> No.9555135

if you want to play quake then grab quake live on steam. it's similar to quake 3 and there's a small pop

Only with friends.
Public groups in games like this completely devolve into the meta at some point.

Is it better than Quake 3? Why not just Quake 3 Arena?

>> No.9555565

Nobody plays Quake 3 outside of the mods - CPMA and Defrag.

Quake Live has more players, maps, modes and better balance / movement. It's also easier to get in to since there's no need to download a bunch of maps seperately etc.

So retro Quake is literally dead?

QuakeWorld has a small but active community, they recently had a 100 player LAN for example.

All of these are dead except Quake 3, and Q3 is only kept alive by the CPMA mod and Quake Live. Quake Live is much more accessible but the population is absurdly tiny, CPMA is nowhere near as accessible but has a more dedicated but equally tiny community. The only way you're really going to get to play Q1 or Q2 multiplayer is if you have a group of friends who will play it with you.
