Hey /vr/, I finally updated the FE romhack infograph after putting it off forever. I haven't been able to play all of the romhacks on it in full so let me know if any of the descriptions or difficulty ratings are wrong.

I also updated the pre-patched rom bundle, hope you'll be able to find a romhack you'll enjoy.

An early version of it actually leaked a while back, the writing seemed pretty bad and the balance seemed pretty fucked (the first enemy you can fight has a fucking swordreaver, for what purpose)

Hopefully the final version will be better.

I tried Crimson Arm and Heaven and Earth. Not a fan. Then again, I came in on Awakening, before going through Fates and 3 Houses. I never got into GBA FE.

The writing in these is godawful. And it shouldn't be, because it's a cheap asset. Characters all sound the same - there's no humour, personalities to bounce ideas off, etc. Basic plots are also fairly uninspired.

As for the maps... they feel like basic Fire Emblem? There's no mechanical gimmick to really change it up. I've played escape maps before, and clearing maps before, designed better than these. Just feels like a really inferior version of stuff I've already been through.

Kind of disappointing after Pokemon rom hacks. Maybe it's easier to scrape a big team together for Pokemon dev? Or maybe the mechanics lend themselves to romhacks better?

Maybe I just don't like this era of FE, IDK.
