nah, this game is fucking garbage. there's only like 20 levels, no multiplayer, no bot match and the controls are aids. for some reason Nintendo thought their customerbase was legitimately too retarded to use dual analog controls during 6th gen so they gimped all of their games with control schemes where you have to toggle movement/aiming and the like. the design was stupid in general, you're just leading tiny skirmishes against scripted enemies with very little control over your units beyond simple move/attack commands and there's no form of basebuilding or resource management so it ends up playing like baby's first Battlefield. also, i can't quite put my finger on it, but something about the art style is very depressing to me. the deformed Buzz Lightyear-esque character designs and color palette are not appealing at all.

It was cool, but the voice acting was too childish, too patronising, like aimed at 10 year olds or something. This is the gamecube era when games started to become shit in that way. You couldn't just have a few strings of text and let people use their imagination, you had to have voice acting and all that. But the core gameplay was interesting and they could have kept the series going and fleshed it out more.

Solid game that offers what it promises, not less not more. Very fast, satisying guns and vehicles, cute aesthetics. Sending your troops into carnage is always fun and in real time even more visceral than in AW games

that's retarded. the campaign never changes. you get funneled through the same scenarios over and over and, at least in the case of this game, there aren't a whole lot of ways to deviate from the set path or mess around. doesn't even have cheats... lame. a skirmish mode or just a simple 2 player mode would have given the game some depth and replayability, but instead the game is a one-and-done that offers no incentive or reward beyond beating the levels with a high score.

You complained about how the sticks are used. The right stick is used very well and aiming like in shooters isn't necessary or would make the game worse. The colors are nice and dreamy. The sequel bumped up the contrast and has an online so maybe check that one out

It's a bit like a lower budget cross of Halo and SRPGs with pleasing Team Fortess 2 alps for the first missions. Stereotype heavy cast of characters that just works. Taking down anti tank troops then rolling in to destroy AA guns only then to take control of a bomber and sweep everything down just feels great. Also one of the Cube games with true 16:9 and Dolby Surround. If you love the Wars series and janky early 3D sandboxes get it, otherwise not
