Weird. I always thought it was the guy who sang Dragon Ball Z's theme that did that. Sad to hear regardless. The Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon theme was the first Japanese song I'd heard. I tried to sing along with it, but when you're a dumb nine year old kid you tend not to do a good job.

I was a bit younger, maybe 7 or so, but for some reason any time I got excited I would sing the impact song and the Mystical Ninja intro song out loud to myself. It would just be syllables that sounded right of course, but I too would try. I guess it just summed up adventure and fun to me.

Goemon 2 on N64 (not the first one) is one of the best and also most overlooked games ever. Best time to play it in his honor (though watch the cutscenes with his singing on Youtube since the Western versions don't have it!)

Like, it happens so often with them. I remember that Kouji Wada who sang for Digimon and Miki Matsubara also died from different type of cancer. There are more but can't remember who at the moment.
