The neat thing here is it's not always the same enemies in the same patterns.
If you do really well against one type of enemy, the game shifts it's strategy and throws other shit at you.

For example, if you wreck ass on the the round things, it'll start throwing the 'bats' at you, and if you wreck ass on them, it'll start throwing the 'fast movers' at you.
I dunno what any of this shit is called that's just what I call them.
These red and white cross looking things, you can't tell it, but they're moving top-right to bottom-left so fast I'm totally boned here, they move in straight lines, but they're so fast that if you're in their line when they start, you can't get out of the way, they just kamikaze your ass.

Good game, but it did feel kinda rushed. Hogwarts grounds is particularly barren: a huge area with fuck all to do. It's a shame, because the atmosphere and the music was amazing.

They did a great job with the Sims-like character models too. It fits the series much better than the realistic look of the later games.

Well, while I definitely do agree with your point, I can't not point out the fact that for me both first Midnight Club and Smuggler's Run had it's pluses... MC had a lot of vehicles I've loved - while MC2 only had The Beast, and for a racing game vehicle selection is a serious deal. So - while tastes are still strictly personal - I kinda love first MC more than second.
Smuggler's Run is a tougher deal. But in first SR I've loved the sound of Monster Truck's engine, and radio girl, and all those animals scattered around the map. I believe, I've never met an animal in SR2.

Something I really like about Azkaban is how they captured Hermione's run animation from the film, it's a small detail but it adds a lot, imo.
You know the scene at the end of Chambers when Ron and Harry see Hermione again and she runs to them to give them a hug? That specific run is what I mean, they captured that really well in this game. It's like a signature.

There's no doubt in my mind they used KH as a reference or inspiration when making this game, the buddy ai and interactions with them, the combat being streamlined and faster, and this guy right here is straight up the Guard Armor Boss Fight from Kingdom Hearts 1.

So, let's just get this straight here, you think it's 'creepy' for someone to take an interest in the details of how various computer hardware and software works?

Been going through a HP marathon these past few days, playing the ps1 and ps2 games and watching the films and behind the scenes stuff after beating each entry, it's a real treat going back to back during Christmas.

Fair warning, HP1 on ps2 is rough, iirc 1 and 2 were developed by two different devs, but used Chamber of Secrets engine.
PS2's Philosopher's Stone also came out in 2003, a year After the PS2 version of Chambers, pretty late compared to the ps1 version, and the film.
My guess is, EA wanted to bank on the PS1 version's success so they pushed out the ps2 version quickly by using the assets of Chambers, and it shows. I still enjoyed it but it's a big downgrade from Chambers despite coming out after it.
Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets on PS1 are pretty fun, the pacing for PS1 Chambers is excellent, imo.
Something I liked about PS2's Philosopher's Stone over PS2's Chambers are the placement of the loading screens, but it comes at a cost. if you play both you'll see what I mean. PS2 Chambers is overall more polished and smoother.
One thing you'll most likely hate about PS2's Philosopher's Stone are the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans pick up in this game, someone thought it was a good idea to have Harry comment on the flavor EVERY, SINGLE, TIME you pick them up.
>UGH SARDINE FLAVOR
>HMMMM COFFEE
>REVOLTING! VOMIT FLAVOR!!
>HMMM PEPPERMINT
and if you pick multiple at once, you're going to hear
>HMM-UGH-REVOLT-SARDINE-PEPPER-UGH
I hope you like hearing "A WIZARD CARD!" too, lol. it's a rough game.

And if you want to break the game's Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans economy, after a new day, check every school desk and Fred and George's shop-during day time, and you'll be swimming in sardine and vomit flavor beans to your heart's content. You can use that to buy yourself the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans bag that lets you carry more, and you can use that to buy everything from Fred and George Weasley's shop early on, like the Wizard Cards.
You can also upgrade your health in this game but I don't think the game tell you that, I think it's earned by completing the missing objects quests or collecting wizard cards, i'm still not sure after beating it.

Pretty much. It's a damn shame they didn't just keep the overall style across the series. The fact that LEGO Harry Potter is the most thematically consistent of the video game adaptations isn't the worst thing (LEGO games are pretty cool even if these ones aren't retro), but I wish there was something to rival it on the non-LEGO front.
