I pick C-3 over 7-3 specifically because the springs sometimes just don't spawn because of the sprite limit but otherwise both of them are practically the same

You people need to play SMB2J, this game will teach you how to deal with hammerbros as well as the stupid springs because it has tons of situations where you either get good or lose. After this game you'll be able to get through World 8 of SMB1 without dying. Even that last hammerbro before Koopa in 8-4. What I like about SMB2J is that as soon as you master this game you become a god in SMB1

I really should play Lost Levels already. I only managed to beat the first game without continues just this year.

Just make sure to play the original. Don't want to be that guy but the SNES version is a joke, you start on the same level you died on when you get a game over. Also the timing on the springs in the remake is way more forgiving. However this version is better than the original in some ways, you don't have to beat it 8 times to unlock the bonus worlds and obviously it has better graphics
