How in the hell are you supposed to max out on coints to get the best ending? I know that the treasures give you 90k if you find all of them but you still need 10k more. Do I seriously have to farm?

Finding all the treasures only gets you the castle, you have to grind some money for the planet.

This was my favorite game on GB (had a fat green non-color one) when I was a kid. I'm just replaying it now.

I'm in the last zone with about 8k coins and all the treasures without farming, so it's probably not that bad. Make sure you always go for the coin game after a level as the odds are in your favor. Also there's a secret level in the first zone where you just go straight and get coins and hearts, so that probably the place is you need the few last ones. I know there was another one where you can get a big coin (worth 100) really easy, but don't remember where. Think it was the secret zone on the island, but not sure.

As a kid I got the birdhouse ending the first time I beat it. The intent was most likely that most players wouldn't get most of the treasures on their first playthrough and would have to go back to search for them, building up a coin collection as they did so.

Well, I had to grind like 5k but it didn't take long, got really lucky on that 50/50 money making game a couple of times. Don't know how because before that it felt like it'd been rigged throughout the whole game, I just couldn't fucking win. Wario has his own planet now

It's a really good game yeah. Strangely enough I liked it more than 4 and Shake it. Wario World (I'm not a Treasure fanatic, I genuinely like the game for some reason) and 1 are my favorites I guess. Will try 2 and 3 sometime later
