Is the Sega CD version still worth it ( the unworking designs patched) vs the PSX? I really like the 16 bit astetics but not a huge fan of random battles. How bad is the encounter rate?

You could play it and find out.

im a fan of Lunar and i rather like both SegaCD and PS1 versions , both have their own merit

Play the ps1 version. Sega CD version has shit localization done by morons.

both were done by Working Designs.

>> No.9443343

still not worth playing because the unworked patches don't restranslate the god awful script, just removes the bullshit gameplay changes
it's like putting a bandaid on a removed limb

but working designs improved the script. without it, lunar is just another boring, generic anime rpg. WD injected a soul into it.

Seems like this is really a matter of personal preference rather than objective judgement. Some people seem to take great offense to the goofy translation, which I personally think is more inspired than something more accurate but entirely generic.

both have different arrangements of the soundtrack and then there's the issues with localization which wasen't as bad as eternal blue but its still there. its debatable that the psp is the best version.

its just family guy writing though
