I got shit for pointing this out. DKC has a lot of dark and depressing stages. I went into it with some of my childhood nostalgia still strong, and honestly the game didn't really measure up to my expectations. It's an okay 2D platformer, but it doesn't compare to Super Mario World. I still need to play through the sequel.

World 1 (Yoshi's Island) is basically a tutorial. And Bowser's lair is more of a desolate landscape. But yeah it's weird that there is not even a snow world and they didn't make the last world fire and lava themed.

Why do I always see this on /vr/? Literally this is one of the most talked about games on /vr/ and you morons keep saying it's a bad game. It's easily more superior then super Mario world in every way. The game looks better, the characters have a charm and quality to them, the music is better, and the hidden rooms are a much nicer touch then grabbing big golden tokens. Just baffles me how retarded people are.
