There is no such thing as a hidden game inside a commercially licensed compilation while we're at late stage capitalism. Everything included was heavily evaluated to ensure it will be the most pleasing product to generate as much revenue as possible. Pirate this dystopian crap for the love of fuck.

the Atari 800 selection is poor except for Bounty Bob Strikes Back , it just shows how Atari werent very good developers for their own hardware

why isn't it on the VCS?
why isn't available FIRST on the VCS?
why isn't available for the cheapest\free on the VCS?
why do they literally hate the people who support them?

why does the store only contain shitware?

I already have TxK, I don't see as much of a reason to delve for that. Of course there is always Tempest X.

>> No.9410046

I admire Jeff Minters obsession about creating the perfect Tempest but he's done it several times now, what's he not happy with?

The "enhanced" remake of Yar's Revenge is pretty great, I love the high-score screen with remaining lives left still has that weird, ambient static sound in the background from the VCS version.

This is actually really impressive, Digital Eclipse seems to regained some passion with this and The Cowabunga Collection.

Sort of kind of based in spirit but you're misguided as to where to channel that energy

The game does ironically shill the Atari VCS in their "future of AtarI" part. Does VCS even have any exclusives? I think they put htem in this relese the ones it used to have.

why isn't available FIRST on the VCS?
good point. i don't have a VCS because i don't see a point in having it when i have a PC and other consoles. i wish they made it a more interesting product.
it's especially jarring given how popular small budget games and retro gaming have become that Atari has no idea what they are doing, not having interesting exclusives if at all...
>inb4 Atari died 2 times and new Atari has no link to old Atari
i already know
it's their time to shine i wish they woken the fuck up

Yar's Revenge is pretty litty

>> No.9413476

>>9413067
Even if Atari wants to improve now, I just don't think they really have the budget to do major projecs constantly.
At the very least it sounds like things are better for them now compared to the dark ages where they legit made games like Alone in the Dark Illumination and cancelled a remake of the original

It would be if atari was atari and not Infogrammes wearing them like a skinsuit. Theyre infamous for being the french equivalent of LJN in europe (shitty licensed games and shady business practices amongst other things) and frankly this OUYA-tier idea for a console is perfectly in line with how they run things. Remember that godawful Haunted House game they did? Course nobody does, it was the hottest of trash. The only reason Atari 50 is so good is because Infogrammes had almost nothing to do with it.

The groovyposting threads leading up to the release of the VCS were short-lived, but so incredibly fun. I miss it.
