Anyone on here played GT2 recently? I'm finding it so much more fun than Forza Horizon and modern GTs.

And why does the Vector M12 only appear in this game? It performs so fucking well in-game even at stock.

OP make sure to get all the recent fanmade patches like the 60 fps physics mode, proper widescreen etc. It almost makes the game feel like a proto-GT3.

I enjoyed the journey to 100% it, apart from having to do all those individual manufacturer races. The amount of credits you need to build up to cover all the tuning costs is pretty big. The race spec requirements are the killer, car costs 5k yet the race spec costs 70k or something ridiculous

yeah I discovered that, I need to gold my licenses, (I didn't "pass" them unless I silvered) need to do the car type challenges, need to do all manufacturer events, and the endurance and rallies.. it's gonna be tough but it's a good time sink. I already can clear the gt world races without challenge thanks to my r34 GTR I maxed out. having a fucking ball so far

do you have any recommendations for which cars you used for car type events? I used a Lancer for the 4wd, and the trophy WRX wagon for wagon races, but I haven't done K races, muscle, MR, etc

You can't get 100% in GT2 IIRC. It's a bug, because apparently there were supposed to be drag races in the game but were removed. I think.
I prefer GT6 and 3 of all the games, but 2 is definitely awesome PS1 90s goodness.

You don't need to think about it too much, just find a car that fits the requirements and that you like, you'll be able to mod it into performing. The requirements are not enforced outside the turbo and drivetrain events by the way.

It depends on the version. IIRC, USA v1.00 can't hit 100%, but USA v2.00 can. EUR/PAL version can actually go over 100%, since Opel and Vauxhall are classed as separate events for competition purposes, but only one appears depending on your language setting upon booting up.

The gold licenses can be troublesome, but with enough practice you'll be able to get them. None of the races in the game are truly difficult, especially if you find a car that matches your driving style and are reasonably competent with things like throttle control etc

Ok sure realism whatever I don't care. Why is there no option to just let me race? Let me race and figure it out for myself. Or we could stop you from playing the game at all unless you're already an expert at the game. Makes sense to me

The Weds Sport Celica was so goddamn fun to drive. Probably the most fun to be had with a front wheel drive car in any game.

The later GT games only had the next generation of that car and it sucked ass. So many good cars are exclusive to GT2.
