In the early 2000’s there was a dedicated fan website where you could stream every episode of this show which is how I first watched it. It had a minimalist design. This was pretty magic back then before the days of YouTube. I think it ran with the WMP web plug-in or something akin to it. If anyone remembers what the website was, let me know.
Anyways the show is fun if you’re a kid, but holy hell that theme song is white hot fire.

I think I have seen only a few episodes of this show in rerun form on TV. At the time, it seemed like standard Saturday morning cartoon fare. Watching the first two episodes right now. Both of these episodes have decent animation. First episode plot is Astroboy, but dumber. second episode is standard Saturday morning cartoon plot. Dr. Wily has evil scheme. Mega Man, Rush and Roll stop him. Voice acting are all recognisable professionals. Dialogue is 'kids show dumb'. Might be mildly entertaining to watch in short bursts.

I watched this entire show. It's pretty good, but certain episodes are skipworthy, the only one I remember being that bad is the one with the Lion Men. Everything else I watched and I definitely enjoyed my time with the show.

I have no real complaints with it because the few episodes that were kind of shitty clearly had low or bad budget. Designs were good, action was fun (real brother relationship) and the soundtrack fucked.

The first episode is pretty spot on with the story. After that it does turn into Wily plot of the week format but then again so do the games. But sometimes it goes into strange territory. Seeing new robot masters was always neat but they were really imbalanced. Some barely got any screen time at all while others would show up all the time. Snake Man in particular kept popping up, probably because he and Mega Man had the same voice actor.

I never watched it outside of YTP and stuff but I think it's pretty cool how they tried to work off of the dynamics set up in the games and adapted a lot of the Robot Masters. Even if in execution it's a cheesy 90s cartoon basically paced like He-Man, it still retained a lot that was true to the games. And sure Mega Man and Protoman being enemies wasnt actually true to the games but it was still ideas that were set up in the games that they used for their own purposes and for this show it pretty much works.

>>9400614
I would have liked a format that mixes a saturday morning plot and the games structure. Unlike the retard above who thinks that means entire 30min run times of jumping through levels, have something like:
>Wily builds or hacks Robot Master
>theme or purpose surrounding bot becomes plot point of episode
>Mega goes to stop it with the occasional help by Rush and Roll
>Wily machine and Proto shows up as recurring opponents
Concepts like, Ice Man freezes over some resort, Snake Man as an espionage spy trying to steal millitary secrets from a base and Light/Mega are asked to help defend it, traveling to Japan and fighting the super ninja assassin Shadow Man, a MegaMan 6 adaptation showing the actual robot tournament. Instead we got the bosses as generic mooks in such great episode concepts like..Wily shrinks MegaMan...and...Wily uses a machine that hacks everything electronic, except somehow even stuff that wouldn't be able to move on its own. Some episode plots were passable, but series as a whole was a missed chance to be something special . Best original concept they had was the X crossover. If they had to work in a time travel episode, i rather have that then Quint show up.

The only things the cartoon got "wrong" were Proto Man's loyalties and the lack of game specific plot points like Wily pretending to work with Light on Gamma from Mega Man 3. The broad strokes of the show more or less matched. I guess they could have had reserved five episodes to cover 2-6 but the rest of the show still would have required them to make shit up on an episode by episode basis.

The eye catch art from the 1st half of the show were likely preproduction artwork done by RS before the actual show went into work but after the shift, and they do show they were done in the US by RS staff themselves.

Ashi Pro who animated the X episode, the pitch pilot with the old Inafune designs, the intro and the edutaiment OVAS did the ones from the 2nd half of the show, even using a film optical version of the megaman logo from capcom while the earlier ones were video generated.

As a side note, in a lot of episodes Mega Man's hands are a shade of blue that literally nothing else on his body uses. I'm wondering if this is the result of some hasty color correction because of a model sheet change.

That said, I wonder how much the US MM fandom's understanding of canon was influenced by the show's own improvising.

This show was my introduction to Mega Man franchise.
One day, my mom brought me a rental VHS with first six episodes and I was watching it the whole evening.
I've had no idea about Mega Man video games, so i jumped into it being completely unfamiliar with the source material.

Years later, someone brought me a cartridge with Mega Man 3 and I thought they made a game based on a cartoon, thought that Mega looked weird and the cartoon was better.
Not gonna lie, this show has a special place in my heart. It's an A-grade blue mold cheese that is deliciously awful and I don't afraid to smack it on the nostalgic bread every now and then.

I should note also that on second half of that VHS, there were six eps of Wild CATS show, which I also loved very much.
That's where my life went, having a bootleg X-men and super fighting robot motherfucker instead of normal things.

Best I can find is what the wiki and its source had to say: https://megaman.fandom.com/wiki/Hideki_Ishikawa#Alternate_Mega_Man_universe_artwork
Basically, she was one of Hideki's OCs that made very obscure appearances in official media. W. Waltz's only other appearance to date is a background cameo in the Dreamwave comic just before it ended. Other original characters in that artwork have appeared elsewhere, including the Archie comic, but she was not one of them. He did draw hentai of Mega Man characters on the side, but I couldn't find info on how it affected him or his works professionally.
