I was doing better at Mahjong in Yakuza 0 when I didn’t try to employ anything but extremely basic strategy. You can imagine my frustration when I started doing worse the more time I spent playing it. May have just been beginner’s luck that carried me at first, though.

I was bowled over when I first saw one of these. I knew video mahjong was huge over there but never considered that they would have specialty controls for those games.
I just started Mahjong Soul today (I’m the guy that recommended it earlier) and although I can tell it’s gonna take me a while to get everything down, it actually doesn’t seem quite as daunting to learn riichi mahjong as I thought it would be. I’m enough of a weeb to already know how to play koi koi and I played a lot of Rummikub as a kid, so I must just be wired for these kinds of games.

I already know how to play riichi mahjong pretty well, what mahjong games would you recommend from the classic console/handheld lineups? I'd like to take some single player mahjong on the go on my emulator. Half decent AI would be nice too, if not, then 2D tiddies. They don't need an ENG patch, I can make do with moonrunes.
