I want to enjoy it but the slowmotion sense of speed makes gameplay very dull

There's a secret menu to adjust FOV without modding or hacking, which also applies to Tourist Trophy. Gran Turismo 3 can too but with a pnach patch.

There's also a pnach patch for Gran Turismo 4 to bring back 3's loose and lower camera.

That and the understeery feel on every single car even with assists turned off, and the slow menu animations and transitions, and the absence of race mods, and the annoyance of autosaves always being present to some degree meaning you have to juggle memory cards or save files just to test drive cars.

More of a video game than JRPGs.

They're basically both Press A: the game

>> No.9247468

The understeering is vastly overestimated. Try something mid engined.

"sense of speed" racing games is just FOV tricks. Burnout is the worst offender with nitro giving you 30-40 more mph but the FOV change makes it look like you broke the sound barrier.

Jarpigs? Yes, they are barely better than visual novels

That is an opinion and I disagree with it.

Drive the Minolta or Sauber on the Ring. Then talk about muh speed. Use super soft tires for added fun.

>> No.9250482

That looks about 90-100 MPH. Speedo says 200-220.

You just proved the other persons point. It hardly looks half the speed it should.

It doesn't have to be FOV tricks. You are attempting to apologize on behalf of megacorps. Be better.

Yes I tried Enthusia today and felt the same. Somehow playing Simshit and driving at 100km/h feels less fast than going through a residential street in real life at 30km/h

>> No.9251494

>>9251387
residential streets are narrower than a circuit fag, also you can crash the car with no consequences in those game so you aren't afraid of driving fast, play RBR instead.

Downforce was bad on simcades and simracers back then. and to think that beamng's predecessor came in 2005.
