Is there any reason to use the NES/SNES Classic instead of an emulator?

Some feigned sense of brand loyalty? It's basically just a boxed up and official emulator.
Honestly, it was a pretty good marketing choice on their part when you consider how those "6 Gorillion TV Games In 1" bootleg devices sold so well. Some people just like having a console.

It comes with fresh snes controllers that you could use on your Wii. It makes for an attractive display piece. That's all I got.

Playing games on your couch instead of your PC

Also, it can be easily modeded into an emulator and flawlessly play everything from Atari to PS1 (again, from your couch)

I freakin love the thing

>horrible experience

You don't know what you're talking about. I just tested out my SNES on my Sony KD-34XBR960 and while the picture quality is great on that TV, it doesn't match the HDMI input clarity and color. Also the sound on the SNES is severely lacking. Same game on my SNES and then on the Mini, the mini sounds waaaaay better on my $5k+ stereo. It's a night and day difference.

controllers, that's it

the emulator and shitty ARM chip it uses sucks in every way compared to something on pc or even rasperry pi, it has a lot of input delay

If you want to legally play your legitimate backup of Star Fox 2 you'll need a SNES mini to dump it from

That's about it. The controllers are really nice to have laying around though if you're still into using Wii VC. Makes me really wish Nintendo came out with an N64 controller that had a Wiimote plug on it, it would be so perfect.
