Yes and cause. Not sure why the zoomies here have such a hard time liking more than one thing. Doesn't it make your polyamorous genderfluid relationships super complicated? Or are you all incels?
The sheer size of the Saturn library is a plus, but there's a lot of overlap where the DC version is vastly superior. If I was an EOP it'd be a simple choice, but alas.

Saturn has more games, Dreamcast is good but it runs out of steam pretty quickly. I also greatly prefer things like the controller, shooters, RPGs and 2D games on Saturn. Many Dreamcast 2D games have that really cheap and ugly looking 3D in a 2D environment style, or converted models into 2D sprites which I find looks terrible.

I think with all the advancements in both emulation and translations, the Saturn library has come to be appreciated better. It's weird, the Saturn has some of that 90's JRPG goodness with Panzer Dragoon Saga and Princess Crown that the DC doesn't excel at, but it just doesn't have the same optimistic vibe of the Y2K period. Also, no Shenmue, though if they ever leak the demo I might change my opinion.

The only differences I'm really aware of lean in favor of the model 2: they came with the updated controllers that most ppl prefer, and they are easier to mod.
Aside from that, I think it's all aesthetics. They might just like the way it looks or have more nostalgia attached to that model.

I don't think either as good as people pretend it is, most of it is due to marketing from people like HG101 who barely played the games. What would have ultimately helped the Saturn would be actually releasing games which was in direct opposition of sega of america's policy. So yes, RSG would have helped, as would bringing over literally dozens of other games which never left Japan.

True enough, RSG itself has become more known for the hype than it's know for the gameplay or quality. Still i think the music kicks ass and the multiple weapons makes me prefer it over ikaruga. for the saturn, the games are already way past that point, even the japanese ones of which there is more supply, you aren't gonna be playing anything without a fenrir/satiator/whatever

Gdemu clones are so expensive now. A couple of years ago I got one and that fucker didn't work so I kinda blew them off and didn't get another. Still want one though. Funny that in the whole thread no one has brought up the VMU as a positive. It was a neat little idea, but the controller sure suffered because of if. The ergonomics aren't terrible, but the 3D controller just feels better on the hands and has more buttons. And it seems like the idea was arguably latter refined by sony with the pocketstation.
