Have you played Battletoads on NES? Have you beaten it? If not, how far can you get?

I've been playing it some on an emulator for the last few weeks. Without savestates, I can get as far as level 6.

I borrowed from a friend for a few weeks and beat it legit back in the day. honestly not one of my favorite games, and never touched it again after I beat it. I love hard games too, just don't think Battletoads is that fun.

Legit beaten it on original console. The key is - stacking lives on crows at lvl 2. And using warps as much as possible (to preserve your cache).

I only based that statement on what I've been told. I haven't been as far as level 11 with two players.
