Did you prefer it when Ratchet was a dick in the first game or when Ratchet was nicer in the Second game?

I liked asshole Ratchet, but that's because it was part of a character arc. By the end of the first game he had overcome his resentment to Clank, gotten over his vengefulness toward Quark, and realised the importance of looking out for the wellbeing of people in general after he realises Veldin will be destroyed. He stopped being an asshole in 1, not 2.

This. His transition made sense for his character, but he still kept a bit of his snarky attitude throughout the PS2 run. It wasn't until PS3 that they turned him into a total wimpy nice guy.

I wouldn't say that. By the time they meet up again in 3, Ratchet is ready to smack Qwark's head clean off his shoulders for all the misery he's caused them in the first two games, and then later he calls out Qwark for being a total fraud.

After the fight at Gemlik Base Ratchet chills out and begins to see the bigger picture. The game would have ended there, otherwise.
He's never "friends" with Quark until maybe the end of 3, but he no longer puts that vendetta ahead of what's important.

Ratchet was still a dick in game 2 he just stopped directing his anger at Clank. You could still see he has a temper in various cutscenes

I can see why they wanted to make him nicer but the change in voice actors was a wrong move. The original voice had a raspy feline character to it, his current voice just sounds like an all-american dude kinda thing, it doesn't look right coming out of him
