Yes. Can be fun but most of the level packs seem to be made to make you suffer

I played through the first 6 level packs when I was 14 and they were challenging but fun.
Collection 7 is where it gets autistically hard though. Maybe one day I'll get gud enough for it.

I think it's a good idea to play Boulder Rush first.
Supaplex seems like a "from veterans for veterans" kind of game.

Does this got any updated version like boulder dash? I really like it when I was younger, but I remember downloading it a few years ago abd couldn't stand the synth FX, it was too screechy...

What version of Boulder Dash would you recommend for beginners?

Well, I've mainly played freeware PC remakes and C64 version, so something like that may be a good start. There's also NES version that seems easy but knowing the platform it probably goes "nintendo hard" later on.

Nope. Cool name though.

Is Boulder Dash the same as Boulder Rush? Asking as a Jet Set Radio fan in general.

Turns out this is not the case. There is a game on mobiles called Boulder Rush!, but it is a different game apparently...actually hang on, there are several it seems by the same name...mobile games, yo. Wtf.

I originally mistakenly wrote Boulder Rush since one of old PC remakes iscalled that, probably as a workaround for copyrights.

>> No.9196317

I've played a lot of the DOS version ever since it went freeware back in the day. Seems someone bought the copyright a few years ago and made Steam release since.
I prefer the DOS version over the Amiga. I know the Amiga is smoother but I've also been playing the DOS version for like two decades by now.

All good, I merely thought the name could have changed due to regional copyright b.s.

>> No.9196463

Rocksndiamonds is a good way to play Supaplex and Boulder Dash (and Emerald Mine and Sokoban) on modern systems.

Was Heartlight inspired by Supaplex do you think? I have never played either one and I like the box art of both.

Im not sure.
I just found out there was a remake of the game that can be played in your web browser with updated graphics.

>In 2006, Maciej Miąsik, co-author of the DOS version, recompiled it and released it under the Creative Commons CC BY-SA 2.5 license[2][3] as freeware. The source code became available too.[4] In 2020, a WebGL remake was released with updated graphics.
