Who here owns a Sony Trintron crt tv?

I personally own a KV-27S45 manufactured in June 1998. The s-video of it is so good that it makes the DVDs I play on my PS2 look practically blu-ray quality.

I've had multiple trinitrons, and I don't understand the hype. Both trinitrons I had burned out after regular use. They lasted maybe 5ish years. Maybe I just got unlucky, but I've had better luck with other brands.

I have two of the models that were released in the early 00s. Silver body ones but before the HD CRTs. We never had one growing up but they were expensive because they're nice and worth it. I want one of the black ones in pic related. My friend's sister put one on FB Marketplace but it was gone before I could get it. RIP.

Man... yeah. We always did that kind of stuff with our TV too. The days of explicitly furniture-styled televisions were before mine, but we really did keep on treating them like furniture well into the 2000s. I really do miss that sort of setup now that I have a place all to myself. I feel like I've subconsciously tried to approximate the setup by keeping my 4K TV in an entertainment center instead of wall mounting it. I got so used to having seasonal decorations on top of the family television; it feels very comforting to keep that sort of thing going in my bachelor pad.

I have a 14 inch trinitron tv, the hi-black ones, it's small, composite and mono only but the picture is still nice. I like the way colors look (specially green) but it definitely shines the most when you play dark games like the GC Resident Evil games those look absolutely beautiful on it.

I got an early 2000’s flatscreen WEGA some years ago. It had a really nice picture (with the exception of some slight horizontal bowing) however it broke on me after a month and since then I haven’t gotten another sony. Haven’t actively avoided them, just not in the mood to get one whenever they come by

I trust that they’re S-tier sets (my experience with the one I had aside from it breaking was good) but I will say the cult surrounding them is extremely irritating when there’s sets by brands like JVC surpassing their level at times cause people act like they’re the be all end all. Again if you like them cool cause yeah they’re good tvs, just don’t be a coomer

Owner of a KV-32FX20A that a collague of mine gave me away for free years ago. Damn it is heavy.
I'm still surprised about the sound quality of it, honestly better than my regular tv with dedicated soundbar.
The Wii with countless emulators is still attached to it and it looks great.

They do some things differently, at least BlackPearls do, dunno anything about Diamondtron. I just read last month about the improvements these Thomson BlackPearls had over Trinitrons, but I can't remember the details or know how to explain any of the technical jargon. All I know is that I agree its better, because to my eyes the games look better on this than Trinitrons I've seen.
