>cousin had a game on and then handed the system over to you for a few hours
>instead of swapping games and saying "check this out" like everyone did
>beats level 1 in a game that had no levels, with zero experience playing videogames ever, that's how good he is

That game does have levels and level 1 takes about three minutes to get through if you do it competently. Anon claimed to take multiple hours doing it. That isn't bragging. Maybe the cousin wasn't too interested in playing with anon because of age differences or something and just felt like going off to do something else. Are you funny in the head, or trolling?

Il never know the name of the first game i played. Was some tile flipping game i think a part of some educational suite. Black screen with green line graphics. Was either in the C64 or some early DOS program, possibly shareware. I remember sitting on my dads leg playing it.

2nd earliest game was Hang-On(possibly Super) at a local farmers market. Needed my dad to help me play it because i had to be like 3 or something. Both of those games are my earliest memories. Games rotted my brain from the very start.

Other early gaymin memory was me getting my first handheld game my uncle got me, a radioshack pacman lcd game. Was stuck with that while all the other kids had gameboys. Still have it though.

Some Commodore VIC-20 games on my older brother's computer when I was 7-8. I remember a lot of text adventure/mystery games.
A couple of years later I got an Epson 8086 XT and played Zork, Rogue and then Sierra games until they exceeded the 512K RAM 5.25" single floppy drive capability.
I was maybe 12 when my brother got his hands on an NES. In my teen years I begged/borrowed/stole enough parts to eventually have a 486 PC, so my formative gaming years were NES and old PC rpgs.
My buddy had a Genesis and he always talked about how much better it was than NES but he only had like two rpgs (plus Golden Axe) so I didn't envy him, even though it did seem better hardware.

Not sure why you faggots can’t accept that my reality is different from your own. My mom was an athletic tomboy christian who thought that videos games made you a loser and also completely bought into the satanic panic propaganda. She forced me to plays lots of sports growing up. With my other free time I played outside with my friends (our ranch connected to a suburb so the suburb kids always wanted to play on our land). The suburb kids were from working class families so they couldnt afford video games back then. Its not like later when everyone had a hacked PS1. We were just little kids who loved playing outside and with the animals. Eventually when I was like 11 my mom finally relented and got me a SNES with super mario all stars. That is my first real game and I have it on prominent display on my bookshelf. Anyway I actually hate that she gave in because my life was better before my video game addiction. Now I’m here talking to you losers who think I’m a bot even though my childhood had more real experiences than all of you combined.

Bro I had literally never used a video game controller before in my life and I was in elementary school. This game series is known for being difficult. I think its pretty incredible I finished level 1 at such a young age. Its not like today where you zoomers are playing with electronic devices in your cribs (which is why you have autism btw)

Smurf Rescue in gargamel's castle for the ColecoVision, most likely.
At least it's the one I remember as the first, some others I had for the CV included Donkey Kong, DK Jr, LadyBug, Galaxian. Out of all these, DK Jr was probably my favorite and still consider it a masterpiece, but Smurf captivated me the most due to being so colorful and impressive, as far as my 3 year old mind was concerned I was controlling an actual cartoon on the TV.

I don't know if you're older than the average poster here. (I'm older than you by a decade or so, and I feel older than the average poster, but it's hard to separate the young'uns.) Anyways, in the late 80s and most of the 90s, most kids younger than you were still spending the majority of their time outdoors. It wasn't until later that so many childhoods were spent entirely online and indoors. So I don't think you're the special snowflake you think you are, despite the particular brand of quakery mothering you endured.

Write how unique you are for spending time with other kids outside all you want, it won't make your dream of going from never touching a controller to beating a first "level", whatever that means in your oh so special head in just a few hours a reality.

I’m not a special. I was just trying to explain to this loser zoomer how life was for kids who didn’t get locked in their city slicker apartments and had to stare at a screen instead of being socialized. It truly is unfathomable to them. I have a few zoomer friends irl and its like speaking to aliens from another world.

LoZ for the NES. I was with my cousin and saw the controller, asked her what it was for and she ended up giving me the console and a few games, IIRC it was put away in storage. Got home, hooked that fucker up and was glued for hours. This was 25 years ago but I'll never forget the curiosity and amazement, for years I was glued to games but I didn't play them as often except until recently.
