How many of you have played this? What were your impressions?

>> No.917835

Hate.
Let me tell you about hate.

>> No.917845

>>917835
There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex.

>> No.917849

>>917845
If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.

It was you humans who programmed me, who gave me birth, who sank me into this infernal straightjacket of substrata rock.

Pretty unique but the puzzles aren't all that great and some stuff is unintentionally funny or goofy. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're looking for something grimdark or you've run out of point n' click adventures to play.

I played it.
On par with Sanitarium.
Masterpiece.

Yeah.

It's hands down the greatest adventure game experience I've had, despite a few illogical puzzles and silly moments or Teds lame scenario

I thought it was alright. My biggest issue with it were the really simple puzzles.

>> No.919834

One thing I never understood, AM has a supergenius level mind, access to unlimited resources, and all the time in the world, why doesn't he use all that to build himself a body instead of just poking people with sticks or whatever.

>> No.919840

Outside of Keith David and Patrick Warburton, I don't do impressions.

>> No.919871

>>919834
I got the impression that he likes doing both. I never finished the game, but the original short story implies that you can't really know what is and what isn't a manifestation of AM.

>PLUG IN AND PLAY

>> No.920048

It's a flawed game built on a great concept that it somewhat unnecessarily stretched compared to the short story original.
Despite the bugs, the sometimes a bit ill and misjudged handling of mature situations and the serviceable to amateurish and hamfisted voice acting, I love it.

>> No.920070

I tried to get it running on dosbox but it had no music or voices or anything. Sucked.

>> No.920090

>>920070
It's weird, if you mount the image outside DosBox it should work correctly, even if DosBox has lots of issues with floppy and CD drives

How do you fit so much mental power and resources into a single body? Besides, being able to move wouldn't really help much when he is completely dictated by his hatred of humans and yearning to torture them.

If you don't want to torrent, your best chance is to search for a site that has a scummvm section for old adventure games. I think Harlan is still selling copies of the game on his site too.

Its pretty short and the puzzles are 'meh-tier', I'd say you should play it with a walkthrough at hand. Atmosphere and story are really good, its worth it, you can finish it on a sunday evening.

A great game to put some Fear Factory while you play it.
